JOB SUMMARY : At the direction of the Chief of the Department of Diagnostic Radiology and in coordination with the Chief medical officer, be responsible for the management, Department activities including budget development, equipment quality control and maintenance, inventory and ordering of supplies, and performance improvement. Responsible for hiring, supervising and evaluating radiology staff. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES : · In conjunction with the chief of the department, CMO, and appropriate chief Technologist input, set goals and objectives for the department and delineate strategies for implementing and achieving goals. · Develop and monitor annual and long-range department budgets. · Delineate and develop new programs that support department goals and objectives. · In conjunction with the Department Chief, be responsible for the quality of all patient care and support activities of the department. · Hire, monitor, and evaluate all technical and support personnel with input from appropriate division physician directors. · Manage the quality assurance and support activities of the Diagnostic Physicist in facility. · Ensure appropriate and timely quality assurance (QA) activities and documentation, coordinating with the Hospital QA Director. · Develop and maintain programs to ensure accreditation, licensure, and a high level of safety in accordance with good practice and state and MOH guidelines. · Monitor department performance with particular attention to customer satisfaction, market share, and fiscal parameters. · Attend Department Chief and other necessary meetings in Hospital and coordinate resources with other departments to achieve department and institution goals. · Direct the procurement of supplies and equipment. · Evaluate the need for new or modified supplies and equipment to update or accommodate new and existing procedures. · Oversee maintenance schedules on equipment and ensure that Radiology’s equipment is safe for patients and personnel. · Responsible for the cleanliness, sterility, and operation of all equipment, traffic control, and infection control necessary to establish a proper environmental standard for the department. · Direct personnel in compliance with safety methods, including disaster and emergency procedures. · Work collaborate Ly with the Chief of the department / Chief Medical Officer and with Hospital Administration, Finance, and Purchasing in the prospective assessment of technology for the department. · Develop a long-range equipment replacement plan which links to the Hospital’s strategic plan and presents a basis for becoming a high-quality, low-cost provider of diagnostic imaging services. · Participate in state, regional, and national Radiology Administrators organizations. · Develop support for ongoing and new interdepartmental education programs, including (but not limited to) in service education and technologist clinical affiliations and department-sponsored regional conference. · Perform additional duties and responsibilities as deemed appropriate by the Chair and Vice President. · Provide personalized coordinated care, support and treatment for patients and families. · Treat people with dignity, compassion, and respect. · Involve patients, families and caregivers by providing them with education and resources for offering optimal support to promote recovery QUALIFICATIONS : · Bachelor’s Degree in Radiology and Imaging Technology. PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE : · Radiology Technical degree with Min 10 years of experience in departmental management or the equivalent in education and experience required. · Experience in a tertiary care Radiology Department preferred. · Licensed from the ministry of health and SCFHS. · Educational and work experience that enables the individual to develop budgets and manage department finances. · Expertise with contemporary computer and radiology management information systems. · Certified Radiology Administrator (CRA) preferred. #J-18808-Ljbffr
