We're expanding our team and seeking a skilled Navigation Service Engineer to join our Global Customer Support (GCS) department based in Doha, Qatar In this role, you'll handle installation & commissioning, short notice on-call & planned services, and in-house remote technical support for a wide array of Navigation, Communication, Steering, Sensor, and Reference system products. These include Radar, ECDIS, Auto Pilot, GMDSS, Echo Sounders, Speed Log, AIS, VDR, Conning, Steering systems, Gyros, GPS, and more, both onboard vessels and in major shipyards worldwide. - Execute installation and commissioning tasks for various Navigation, Communication, Steering, Sensor, and Reference system products such as Radar, ECDIS, Auto Pilot, GMDSS, Echo Sounders, Speed Log, AIS, VDR, Conning, Steering systems, Gyros, GPS, etc.
- Provide prompt on-call and planned services, responding efficiently to short notice requirements.
- Deliver remote technical support to resolve issues with installed systems, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal functionality.
- Collaborate with global customers and major shipyards to address technical inquiries and ensure customer satisfaction.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of service activities, including reports, troubleshooting steps, and solutions implemented.
- Continuously update technical knowledge and stay abreast of advancements in navigation technology to provide informed support and recommendations.
- Demonstrate a commitment to Kongsberg's values of determination, innovation, collaboration, and reliability in all aspects of work.
- Display a high level of motivation and readiness for frequent travel to various locations worldwide to support customer needs and project requirements.
- Play a role in shaping the future strategies of the marine industry, focusing on digitalization and decarbonization efforts.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in electronics, telecommunication, or related fields. Alternatively, substantial relevant work experience can offset the absence of formal education.
- Additional training and certifications in the Offshore/oil & gas industry, such as BOSIET and H2S, are advantageous.
- OEM trainings and certifications for marine navigation/telecommunication equipment are beneficial.
- Possession of GMDSS GOC certification is an advantage.
- A minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience with Navigation products.
- Proficiency in English, both written and verbal, enabling effective communication.
- Demonstrated enthusiasm for global travel and engagement in support activities, showcasing a high level of motivation and adaptability.
