Overall, Role Purpose * Leads a department responsible for continued airworthiness support - CAMO. * Manage the Technical Services, Airline Maintenance Planning, Technical Records and Technical Library personnel assuming full project management. Your Tasks: Specific Role Context: Has full management oversight of Technical Services, Airline Maintenance Planning, Technical Records and Aviation Library at the main base and outstations. Ensure that the Technical Director has all the required information available in order to make accurate and objective decisions. Maintaining highest possible technical DRR while assessing multiple factors surrounding aircraft serviceability Customer: * Introduce, revise and manage maintenance programs (airframe/engine/components) for the fleet as per manufacturer and regulatory requirements. * Introduce reliability programs within engineering, digest trend monitoring data and alert levels, thereafter, making recommendations as required. * Instigate and control the review and implementation of incoming FAA, AD’s and SB’s recommending to management the best course of Company action * Responsible for the control and updating of the Company’s entire library, to include distribution of revisions and advisory data. * Through the Technical Services Department, be responsible for the recommending, planning and implementation of all major modifications or repairs. * Along with Planning Dept, develop and manage base maintenance planning – including tech support to MRO, financial control on work accomplished. * Engineering Focal for aircraft induction / redelivery / lease return * Responsible to manage compliance with upcoming mandates to the aircraft systems. * Ensure short term / mid-term / long term engine / APU shop visit plans and securing slots with vendors. Liaise with Global Procurement for engine / APU / nacelle tender process. * Ensuring continued compliance with aircraft / engine lease engineering requirements * Technical Liaison with OEM/vendors for GTA / Tech Support & repair agreements – for high dollar rotables * Work with Airline Materials Manager to comply with a consistent rotable part fleet standard. * Interface with Maintenance, Flight Operations and Management employees to support aircraft On-Time Performance standards. * Engineering Representative at the ESAG – Engineering Safety Action Group. * Taking the necessary corrective actions resulting from quality audit discrepancies in the areas for which he is responsible. * Assume engineering projects in the capacity of a Technical Services Engineer. * Oversee Technical Records personnel to ensure correct and timely entry of the aircraft records into the TRAX database and ensure ‘Active” aircraft records are properly maintained. * Ensure Technical Records personnel comply with mandatory reports required * Ensure Technical Records management via STREAM interactive * Report to subordinates their results in term of EBIT and On-Time Performance targets * Maintain and co-ordinate changes within the company’s manuals and ensuring that the procedures in the manuals are accurately complied with. * Through the Technical Services Engineers provide timely assistance to the Production and Planning Manager with regards to hybrid trouble shooting and recurrent technical problems. * Responsible for computing, maintaining and revisions to “weight and balance” and “electrical load analysis” data. * To carry out and manage the Airworthiness reviews ensuring continued airworthiness compliance with the ANTR Part M * Co-ordinate aircraft modifications and fleet standardisation as requested by the flight operations, ground operations and/or maintenance requirements. * Develop long term base maintenance plans (C Checks), develop RFQ’s and contracts with vendors in co-ordination with Global Procurement Team. * To deputize for the Technical Director when requested. Process: * Must be able to analyse and troubleshoot aircraft systems and engines. * Must be able to make timely and appropriate decisions based on problem solving ability and experience. Remains objective and co-ordinates with relevant departments, even when under pressure, to make a calculated decision with considerations given to safe ‘on time performance’ of the company fleet. * Must be able to prioritize work requirements based on maintaining aircraft in serviceable condition. Weekly staff meeting and briefing to discuss projects and to assist wherever possible. Attendance at Daily, Weekly and Monthly and Quarterly Technical meetings to assist the group. People Management: Staff Structure: * Determine the team structure, roles, performance targets and goals at regional level to develop a high-performance team that is customer-driven, service focused, cost-conscious and responsive to competing regional and global demands. Recruitment: * Recruit new hires according to internal guidelines and procedures. Staff Management& Development: * Ensure that the team is provided with clear direction and performance standards expected and is staffed, trained and motivated to meet set targets. Support staff in performance appraisal process and career development within the company in order to develop and maintain a motivated team of competent staff. Identify training needs and opportunities to develop a highly skilled Mobility team.
