Learn more about AWARD Construction Ltd. here. THE POSITIONAWARD Construction Ltd. is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity to lead large-scale commercial and residential construction projects through conceptual planning, design, and construction phases. Responsible for total project delivery, the Senior Project Manager is accountable for the overall execution of multiple projects, safely and profitably, with a critical focus on meeting and exceeding client needs and expectations. The ideal candidate has extensive demonstrated experience in managing large-scale building construction projects. We are looking for someone who has expertise in the principles of project design and administration, in combination with strong leadership skills to motivate project teams to achieve success. AWARD is seeking someone with exceptional communication and problem-solving skills, a keen attention to detail, and an innovative mindset.Responsibilities & DeliverablesProject Planning & Documentation: Developing comprehensive project plans, including timelines, resources, and budget allocations. Preparing project-specific schedules, including defined milestones, and ensuring clarity in scope of work with proper documentation. Obtaining necessary permits/licenses and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements throughout the project lifecycle.Project Coordination: Establishing project contact sheets and facilitating regular meetings with subcontractors, consultants, and clients to monitor progress and address concerns. Financial & Resource Management: Developing project budgets, monitoring expenses, and preparing purchase orders for materials and subcontractor contracts within set limits. Coordinating with vendors to purchase materials with sufficient lead time to prevent disruptions to project continuity.Progress Reporting & Claims: Preparing comprehensive project progress reports, submitting monthly progress claims to consultants, and ensuring timely completion and submission of subcontractor invoices.Safety & Site Management: Monitoring project safety incidents, addressing safety concerns, and liaising with Corporate Health and Safety Manager for resolution. Conducting routine project walkthroughs to ensure project alignment with expectations and addressing any issues.Team Leadership: Managing, coordinating, and developing project teams, including contractors, subcontractors, and other stakeholders. Coaching, mentoring, and managing performance of Project Coordinator.Communication & Relationship Management: Fostering positive relationships with vendors, subcontractors, and employees while resolving issues and ensuring project adherence to schedule. Managing changes to project scope, schedule, and costs through proper verification techniques and communication with stakeholders.Skills, Knowledge, & ExperienceMinimum 5 years' experience in a Project Management or Supervisor role in the construction industry. Experience across a range of projects, including commercial, industrial, and multi-family residential is preferred.A combination of relevant post-secondary education (i.e. Technical Diploma, equivalent, or higher) and demonstrated aptitude with years of equivalent experience will be considered. Project Management Institute (PMI) accreditation or equivalent designation is considered an asset.Comprehensive understanding of construction drawings, documents, costs, processes, materials, regulations, and safety standards.Skilled in project management principles and tools to plan, execute, and oversee projects efficiently.Strong financial acumen with understanding of financial management, budgeting, and cost control in construction projects.Ability to lead diverse teams and manage subcontractors and stakeholders to achieve project outcomes.Proven ability to build and maintain client relationships and effectively manage client expectations.Strong negotiation skills; ability to influence and persuade others to reach a consensus.Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to identify and resolve issues professionally and efficiently.
