Applying the latest technologies to sustainably produce nickel, copper, cobalt, platinum group metals, gold and silver is at the heart of what they do.Your new roleWe are currently seeking a Electrical Commissioning Coordinator to join our team in Sudbury, Ontario. This is a temporary position for 12 months.Coordinate, plan and support the execution and processes of approved project activities including commissioning, handover, and operational readiness activitiesProvide construction supervision of contractors and sub-contractors, managing the scope in the field and organizing daily activities while reporting and tracking progress.Accomplish desired construction project results by calculating resources required, enforcing standards and protocols; allocating resources; scheduling and coordinating staff and contractors evaluating milestone assumptions and conclusions; resolving design problems with or without the aid of engineering resources and the ability to identify situations where the engineer is requiredIdentifying and stopping scope changes until approved by management and technical teamsSupport the planning of project and development of contractsCoordinate material logistics required, including ordering through a requisitioner, for project executionContinuous contractor performance monitoring regarding the scope and associated drawings and project listsCoordinate with Operations and Maintenance, clearing obstacles that may interfere with the progress of the project, e.g.: authorizations, permits, procedures, precautions, scheduleProviding daily work direction that optimizes the use of available resources (people, time, job assignments, and equipment)Perform and assist in Kick Off MeetingsCoordinate contractor Level and gate access approvals for all contractsProviding technical knowledge and expertise for the development of sound project execution strategies What you'll need to succeedMandatory Certification: Journeyperson Trade License or Professional Engineering License or Certified Engineering Technologist in the electrical field.Education in an engineering, technical or trades discipline is required.PMP Designation is an asset.Other knowledge, skills, abilities, and behaviors needed to perform this position: Proven field supervisory skillsA strong project background and internal customer focus5-7+ years of experience at a Mining, Smelting or Refining Operation, Industrial or Chemical Plant Operation with exposure to project work of various sizesGood understanding of computer programs and applications (Outlook, SAP, MS Word and Excel, MS Office, Teams, CMMS)Strong Knowledge of site safety, construction, mining, industrial, OH&S, and environmental regulations;Excellent understanding of project execution and great communication skills.Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to work and produce results under pressure.The ability to read and understand engineering drawings from multiple disciplines- electrical, mechanical, civil, miningWhat you'll get in returnThis role is offering competitive compensation package, excellent benefits and opportunity to grow and develop within the company!
