Job Title: Web Development Manager/Delivery LeaderPrimary Location: REMOTE (Ontario or British Columbia Canada)Position Type: Contract to HireOverviewTalentFish is casting a line for a Web Development Manager/Delivery Leader. This is a remote contract to hire role in Ontario or British Columbia, Canada. This role is open to support the delivery team for a creative organization supporting some of the world's top brands. As the Delivery Leader you will guide, coach, and mentor a team of scrum masters, software, data dev ops and test engineers in the design, development, delivery, and maintenance of premium digital marketing products and services. You will be leading the development of people and practices and enabling teams to successfully execute in an Agile organization.What You Bring to the Role. (Ideal Experience)Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related engineering degree or equivalent work experience.8+ years' experience in software development.5+ years building user interfaces, web applications and services on a public cloud infrastructure,3+ years of software development management experience.1+ years leading teams using Agile, Scrum, XP, or KanbanQualificationsExperience with Web UI development and JavaScript libraries (React.js, Vue.js.).Experience in API service-oriented architecturesExperience with Cookie consent and web analyticsExperience with Mobile Application developmentExperience with Agency or Marketing industry,Experience with continuous integration and continuous deliveryExperience with leveraging public cloud infrastructure (specifically AWS/EC2 and serverless)Familiarity with Lottie / Bodymovin animationsFamiliarity with Adobe Creative Suite, Sketch and/or FigmaStrong communication skillsTrack record of successful project delivery.Capable of contributing technically when necessaryDemonstrable knowledge of software design patterns, algorithms, data structures and modern programming techniquesKnowledge of common web development patternsWhat You'll Do. (Skills Used in this Position)Manage and lead a team of 5 to 7 Software Engineers to deliver web experiences with best in class production values that will be enjoyed by millions of users.Work directly with digital producers and platform teams to provide business solutions from inception to operation.Manage vendor relationshipsResource planning and financial accountabilityEnsure that the whole team owns the quality of the products produced and maintain a balanced mindset acr oss the engineering disciplines involved in delivering products according to the 'definition of done'.Client of world-class customer experience.Stay abreast of industry/technology trends relevant to the Software Engineering discipline.Regularly review team performance, collaborate with them on improvement initiatives/experimentsAttract, recruit, retain, and develop top engineering talent.Review the performance of the team and individual team members and provide effective coaching for improvement.Cultivate and groom leaders.Act as a servant leader to a team or a team of teams so that they are enabled to maximize the value they can deliver to the business.Foster a growth mind-set in all employees.Foster and enable software craftsmanship and innovation.Advocate for the team and promote their successes, celebrate their failures, and share key learnings throughout the organization.Lead accountability, autonomy, and empowerment within your teams and manage the appropriate boundaries to achieve the result of having self-directed work teams.Live the principles behind the Agile Manifesto and SAFe framework in all interactions and equip the team to do the same.TalentFish is an employee-owned company pioneering a new realm in talent acquisition.
