SENIOR ASSOCIATE / VICE PRESIDENT, CREDIT UNDERWRITING, MID-CORP SPONSOR / LEVERAGED FINANCEExcellent opportunity exists for an experienced credit underwriter to join a major financial institution, with a focus on Mid-Corp Sponsor / Leveraged Finance. A proven background in credit underwriting, execution, and portfolio management within the Canadian Sponsor / Leveraged Finance sector is required.Responsibilities:Lead the credit analysis and underwriting process for potential lending opportunities in the Mid-Corp Sponsor / Leveraged Finance sectorAssess creditworthiness of corporate clients / businesses / deals and PE sponsors by analyzing industry reports, CIMs, financial statements, credit reports, and other relevant dataCommunicate recommendations effectively to senior stakeholders, including presenting and leading all pre-screen and credit committees and discussionsConduct thorough risk analysis to determine appropriate credit limits and terms for clients and justify the proposal to internal credit teamsCollaborate with the Deal Team members to evaluate and structure credit proposalsEnsure compliance with regulatory guidelines and internal credit policies. Highlight areas where existing policies can be amended to fit the Mid-Corp Sponsor business in CanadaMonitor and manage the ongoing credit risk of assigned portfoliosStay updated on industry trends, economic conditions, and regulatory changes affecting credit riskQualifications:Minimum of (5) years proven experience in credit underwriting within a corporate/commercial banking environmentStrong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data and make informed decisionsBachelor's or master's degree in finance, accounting, or a related fieldExcellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with team members and clientsStrong knowledge of Canadian Mid-Corp space, market terms, key players in the market, relevant regulations, and industry best practicesDetail-oriented and able to manage multiple tasks simultaneouslyFor more information, please contact Shan Collins at: scollins@collinsrecruit.com All enquiries and applications will be held strictly confidential.
