Purchasing Manager

We are seeking a Purchasing Manager for our client in Winnipeg. The ideal candidate is expected to come from a manufacturing or assembly environment where they are involved in buying mechanical parts and accessories for building mobile or moving equipment for agriculture and construction. The candidate can also come from environments where buses, planes or helicopters are assembled. What we offer Salary of $130,000 (If you think you deserve better, why not? Please apply) Other benefits like RRSP, tax free health spending account and generous vacation days Work from office Who you are You have extensive buying experience of at least 5 years, and you have led a purchasing/procurement team for at least 4 years. You can read and interpret blueprints. As much as we desire a leader, you should also be hands-on and be ready to roll your sleeves. You are articulate and can present ideas to individuals or groups. You can negotiate with facts, considering commercial and non-commercial variables. You have been involved in building equipment with wheels and axles. You are familiar with and have experience with the supply chain ecosystem for commodities related to moving, mobile types of equipment. You have led the team and collaborated with other stakeholders to adopt ERP tools to create efficiency in purchasing operations. You have been involved in setting strategic directions, building systems, and participated in improvement initiatives for the Purchasing function. You are passionate about coaching and mentoring a team. What you do Lead a large Purchasing team- at least 10 people Create and monitor the performance of the purchasing strategy Buy commodities and accessories for assembling or manufacturing moving equipment. Work closely with the design team and other stakeholders, and you use mechanical blueprints. Use ERP tools to manage your purchasing operations. Manage a budget of at least $5 million annually.
