Intermediate UX/UI Designer

This is a full-time, permanent role in Calgary, AB (Hybrid)OverviewJotson is an energy-tech company that empowers users to manage their energy consumption, costs, and carbon footprint.  Established in early 2023, Jotson is an early-stage startup, and we are seeking an Intermediate UX/UI Designer to join our core team and mature Jotson's product design capabilities.  This is a unique role for a highly talented and driven individual that will enjoy early-stage startup activities. What you'll doYou will manage and support Jotson's product designs, including:lead customer discovery process and develop user insights that uncover customer pain pointscreate user flows, prototypes, and designs for intuitive mobile and web-based user experiencesresearch latest UX/UI trends, tools, and technologies and incorporate them into design activitiescreate a structured approach to maintain design systems, style guides, and UI librarieswork with staff, contractors etc., as required, to progress the design and meet timelineswork closely with product owner and participate in product planning activitiescollaborate with development team, and integrate them into design workflows and processesperform user acceptance and usability testing prior to release to achieve product quality targetstranslate the Jotson brand experience to its productsproficient in Figma or similar interface design and prototyping toolWhat you bringYou are an experienced product designer with 5+ years' experience in creating mobile and web-based products and have a strong understanding of effective user experiences and user interface design. You're excited at the chance to help evolve Jotson's design processes, and you see opportunity in the ambiguity and constant change that comes with this startup stage.You've gone through numerous product development cycles in varying roles, and you've shown leadership on the teams you've been a part of.  You have a user-centric mindset, you make use of strong design processes & principles, and can balance moving fast with managing design debt.Designing innovative and creative concepts is something you enjoy, and you look forward to conducting customer research to drive your work, thinking through design strategies.Join Our TeamCome join our team and contribute to our product design process, help us build out from our current MVP to deliver user-centric products that bring simplicity to a complex topic, and build human-centered user experiences that meet Jotson's business goals. We work on-site (hybrid) in our newly renovated South Calgary office, with free parking, on-site gym, and 2 min away from Marda Loop.Candidates must be eligible to work in Canada and be located in Calgary for this position.Candidates must include a design portfolio, showing a variety of mobile and web product experiences, user flows, research, and user interface designs.
