All aspects of the child's development — social, emotional, intellectual, and physical — are considered and given equal importance by our exceptional faculty.Job Summary: The Database Administrator is an integral part of the Mabin School Administrative team working across all departments within the school. The successful candidate must be able to both think strategically about the databases we use and also  attend to all of the details involved in implementing new databases and also ensuring data integrity in existing databases. The Database Administrator will work closely with various constituencies and assess current databases and identify opportunities to streamline and better integrate information management. This will also require working closely with various department heads and end users across the school to better understand needs and reporting requirements. During any database migration, the Database Manager will play a key primary or supporting role.Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:Provide on-site database and system support Monitor, collect statistical information and provide reporting on capacity and system performance Based on statistics, make recommendations to maintain and improve access to the system Monitor the system, and act upon system and application automated alerts Perform diagnostics, testing, and troubleshooting of software, o/s, and database issues (ex. correcting the installation, configuration, or data problems) Plan and perform software installation, configuration, upgrade and patching Perform and manage system and database backups Assessing and improving data integrity in the school's databases as needed;      Stepping into the role of managing morning attendance if front office staff are unavailable Training employees in the use of particular areas of the database (e.g., Faculty Portals, Attendance, SMS, etc) Supporting departments with particular database-related projects software migration and tools, update and correct historic Board information, assist all departments with historical information, etcOther duties as required and assigned The Successful Candidate will have: Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Proficient in Google Suite and database management.Enthusiastic, proactive, and a team player.Embodies Mabin's 10 Habits of Mind. A creative problem solver that can think flexibly and persist through challenges.Detail-oriented.Love of learning and willingness to innovate. Commitment to The Mabin School's vision and mission.Experience with databases and IT systems in a school environment considered an asset.
