Project Manager (Construction)

About the Role:Fitzrovia is seeking to hire a Project Manager to join our team. The Project Manager will be an experienced construction professional and will play a key role in all aspects of the building and construction of a high-rise, multi-residential project. Responsibilities:Lead all aspects of project construction with a view to completing the project on time, on budget and in accordance with quality control standardsReview and manage the construction schedule in conjunction with the construction management teamReview all contract drawings and specifications for completeness and coordination and ensure that the building is built in accordance with these documentsReview full trade scopes and tender documents in conjunction with the construction management teamMonitor the project's material and labour costs and ensure accurate reporting is being completedAttend and lead project meetings with consultants, trades and/or the construction management teamEnsure trade activities are undertaken in an organized fashion and work is completed in time for scheduled occupancies and commissioning of the projectAdvise fellow team members of potential problems, work interferences or schedule difficulties while assisting in circumventing/resolving such conflictsMaintain excellent relationships with trade contractors on-site, architects and consultantsEnsure comprehensive project close-outReview and approve project schedules / budgets, tender contracts, monitor and supervise construction program and schedule regular on-site design and construction meetingsNegotiate agreements with construction suppliers and prepare change orders when necessary and analyze the costsProvide site directives necessary for work progressionEnsure, with the mandated professionals, the quality of executed work and the conformity with laws and regulations as well as applicable building codesDrive consistency in operational processes, identify and implement best practicesWork alongside the internal teams to create cost reports, annual budgets and business plans with the goal of maximizing asset value Qualifications and Experiences:Minimum 7 years' experience in hi-rise / multi-residential constructionA university or college degree in engineering, architecture, or construction management will be considered an assetExcellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate assertively with internal and external stakeholdersStrong team leader, with the ability to hold team members accountable for resultsProficient in Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project, and ExcelDemonstrated ability or aptitude analyzing drawings for site, building, and suite plansResilient and works well under stress and pressure to meet deadlinesStrong analytical skills with excellent attention to detailStrong collaborator, with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholdersWhy Fitzrovia:Fitzrovia is a vertically integrated development and asset manager focused on Class-A and vintage-style apartment buildings across the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) and Montreal.
