Early Childhood Content Editor - Ireland

Location: Remote Pay Rate: €13.50 per hour  Contract : 12-month fixed term contract with a view to extend Hours : 15 hours per week including core hours 10am-2pm two week days per week minimum Line Manager: Lisa Byrne  Recruiter: Chelsea Sharman Closing Date: 1st April 2024 You’ll be helping to build a new team of passionate professionals working flexibly to edit content for Twinkl’s Early Years Irish market. This team will create a wide range of resources for use in Early Years settings in Ireland. This will include planning documents linked to the Irish Curriculum , display materials, activity supports to name a few. For this role, the majority of your time will be spent editing content for content relating to Early Childhood in Ireland. How you will spend your week:
  • meeting with other Twinkl editors or the Segment Manager to discuss new ideas;
  • editing content for the Irish market;
  • rapidly editing content for current events and educational trends;
  • developing new product ideas with the Ireland Segment Manager and working collaboratively as a team
Ireland is a rapidly growing market for Twinkl. You will have the creative freedom to shape the content we offer to our customers. Our ideal candidate will be going further than editing content by suggesting new product ideas, identifying needs in the Irish Early Years community, sharing their experiences and expertise with others. It is an exciting time for this market. The successful candidate will be vital in ensuring that these ambitious plans for Ireland become a reality. This is a work from home, flexible position, and hours can be agreed between you and your line manager to fit around your current commitments but you should have availability for team meetings during office hours.  To succeed in the role, you will:
  • be a fantastic communicator who thrives when working in a close-knit team;
  • be focused on collaboration, using feedback to make our resources the best they can be;
  • have detailed knowledge of the Irish Aistear Curriculum; also have a good understanding of play pedagogy 
  • be creative and think outside the box. 
  • have good time management and be able to work quickly and effectively. 
  • have an excellent understanding of the needs of educators in Irish Early Years settings. 
In this role, you will learn: 
  • how to edit new educator content for our Irish team, from ideation stage to publication on the site; 
  • remote collaboration, working closely with team members across this market;
  • how to develop greater commercial awareness so we can understand the needs of those we want to help.
We’re are especially interested in anyone who also meets one, or a combination of the following: 
  • Extensive knowledge of the Aistear Curriculum, particularly candidates with experience in using play alongside Irish practice guidance. 
  • At least three years of experience working in an Early Years setting
  • Level 8 BA (Hons) in Early Childhood Care and Education or equivalent
  • The ability to create resources that demonstrate a high standard of spelling, punctuation, grammar, curriculum relevance and factual accuracy. 
  • Excellent communication skills. 
  • Creativity and initiative. 
  • The ability to operate fluently between a range of different IT platforms
