As a Senior Instructional Designer, you will lead the design and development of high-quality instructional materials and courses across a range of academic programmes. You will collaborate closely with faculty members, subject matter experts, and other instructional designers to create learner-centred experiences that promote student engagement, enhance learning outcomes, and ensure the highest standards of instructional design excellence.Responsibilities: Lead the instructional design process for complex and large-scale course development projects, ensuring alignment with learning objectives, academic standards, and institutional guidelines. Collaborate closely with faculty and subject matter experts to analyse, design, and develop innovative and effective instructional materials, assessments, and multimedia resources. Apply instructional design theories, models, and best practices to create engaging and interactive learning experiences that incorporate various instructional modalities and technologies. Mentor and provide guidance to instructional designers, sharing expertise, best practices, and promoting professional development within the team. Conduct comprehensive needs assessments, learning analyses, and evaluation of instructional materials and programs, making data-driven recommendations for continuous improvement. Stay abreast of emerging trends, technologies, and pedagogical approaches in instructional design and advocate for their integration into course development. Collaborate with other departments and stakeholders to ensure seamless integration of technology, accessibility, and instructional design standards into the learning environment. RequirementsQualifications: Master's degree in Instructional Design, Educational Technology, or a related field. Minimum 10+ years of experience in instructional design, preferably in a higher education setting. Extensive knowledge of instructional design principles, learning theories, and best practices. Proven expertise in designing and developing complex and engaging instructional materials, courses, and assessments. Proficiency in using instructional design software, multimedia tools, and Learning Management Systems (LMS). Strong understanding of accessibility standards and guidelines (e.g., WCAG) and their application in e-learning materials. Excellent leadership, communication, and collaboration skills, with the ability to work with faculty effectively, subject matter experts, and instructional design teams. Demonstrated project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple projects, prioritise tasks, and meet deadlines. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on data-driven decision-making.
