Job Description:

We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Specialist Operational Risk as a critical role in providing specialist support in the management, implementation and execution of operational risk management (ORM) programs at process operations.

Job Responsibilities:

Facilitating the analysis of Priority Unwanted Events (PUEs) and validate critical control monitoring routines.

Support the implementation of leading strategies and practice across mining and process operations and projects in Anglo American.

Routinely advise operational leaders of ORM performance and necessary actions.

Deliver self-assessments to ORM programs to guarantee consistency and adhere to group instructions.

Ensuring the ORM framework is effectively implemented for the assigned sites.

Facilitate risk management interfaces into operational programmes such as the Anglo American Operating Model and Asset reliability.

Effectively influence and manage relationships with key internal and external stakeholders to achieve required outcomes

Reporting, monitoring, and tracking ORM KPIs for the assigned sites.

Implementation of the ORM training program to build site capabilities following group guidelines and monitor the competency of trained personnel.

Job Requirements:

Medical fitness test

People Management

Completed BSc degree in engineering, chemical or related sciences.

Knowledge of risk assessment techniques

Strong technical analytical skills are essential

Experience within a risk management role within a technical environment is highly advantageous

Previous processing or chemical technical background is advantageous

Working on operational mine sites (processing) will be required. This may involve activities of a physical nature in a typical mine environment (for example noise, vibration, heat, small spaces, reduced visibility).

10 years' experience in a technical role within the mining, oil & gas, chemical or high-tech industry is essential

Regional and domestic travel may be required
