JUNIOR COST ACCOUNTANT

JOB PURPOSEThe Junior Cost Accountant will be primarily responsible for recording the movement of stock - this can be via backflushing on Syspro, stock adjustments or stock takes. In addition to this the Junior Cost Accountant will assist other stakeholders in managing the stock production on Syspro as well as being the 2IC for the Cost Accountant.QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE- Grade 12 or equivalent qualification- ND / CMA degree / Advanced Diploma and 3+ years of accounting/finance experience- Minumum 1 year Cost Accounting experience in manufacturing environment- Advanced daily movement of stock- Exposure to Syspro will be advantageous- Advanced Excel SkillsMINIMUM SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRES- Excellent reporting skills- Excellent communication skills- Great attention to detail and accuracy- Excellent numeric, oral and written language applications- Excellent interpersonal skills (with internal and external stakeholders)- Excellent organizational and follow-up skills- Experience in a similar position in a manufacturing environment essentialROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIESMaintaining of materials(BOM):- Assisting in loading of new bill of materials on SharePoint workflow- Assist Cost Accountant to investigate Bill of Material variences between actual manufacturing in the plant vs what is on sysproControlling of stock:- Co-ordinating monthly stock takes and ensuring accurate capturing thereof (this does occasionally occur on a Saturday)- Analysing variences and implementing control measures)- Balancing and checking warehouses- Cycle counts- Preparation and processing of Stock AdjustmentsKey performance Indicators / Key Performance Areas:- Inventory Transaction- Labour and Overhead costing (understanding)- Compliance with Legislation- Reporting / Analysis- Assist in Stock Codes creation- Backflushing and job receipting- Receipting of Supply Chain Transfers- Resolving daily Inventory /System Queries- Analytical Reviews- Other Ad hoc duties delegated by Cost AccountantDuties and responsibilities are, however, not limited to this, all reasonable and lawful requests within your scope of work/abilities given by management are to be followed whether this is inside or outside the factories.
