We are thrilled to present a compelling opportunity for an IT & IP Solicitor to join the team of a prominent law firm with offices in Dublin and Galway. Applications are now open for suitably qualified solicitors with a minimum of 2 years of IT & IP experience, preferably acquired in the practice of a large law firm. This position is a specified purpose contract covering a Maternity Leave in our Galway office, with a Monday to Friday working schedule. The successful candidate should be a solution-oriented problem solver with a robust work ethic and a drive to gain valuable legal experience. The contract is set to commence in January 2024. About the Role:
- Managing a diverse caseload of clients
- Providing clients with quality advice and guidance
- Advising on copyright issues
- Advising on passing off disputes
- Trademark and designs registrations
- Intellectual property audits
- Handling patent advisory advice
- Dealing with all matters, including IT Contracts, Drafting Data Protection and Privacy policies, advising clients on GDPR, and handling Data Requests
- Active involvement in business development for the Galway team
- Undertaking any other relevant and associated duties assigned by the Partner
- 2 years PQE and must have experience in Intellectual Property or Corporate Law
- Strong commercial acumen and client relationship management skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to prioritize work and adhere to strict timescales
- Adherence to strict Practice Procedure, especially related to filing and quality standards
- Willingness to collaborate closely with other teams in the Firm on joint projects
- Commitment to continued personal and professional development
- Ability and willingness to play a significant role within the team
- Proven work ethic, a 'can-do' attitude, and the ability to work collegially
- Experience using a computerized case management system
- Experience drafting complex leasing, acquisition, and disposal agreements
