Apply locations Singapore time type Full time posted on Posted 30+ Days Ago job requisition id JR105692 SUMMARY Surbana Jurong Infrastructure – Energy & Industrial Division seeks to hire Senior Electrical Engineer POSITION DESCRIPTION JOB TITLE: Senior Electrical Engineer REPORTS TO: Lead Engineer/ Engineering Manager, LNG & Power Division LOCATION: SINGAPORE RESPONSIBILITIES: Senior Electrical Engineer’s key responsibilities are: The Electrical Engineer’s key responsibilities are:
  • Carry out electrical concept design, feasibility study, FEED, detailed engineering, support procurement and construction, testing, pre-commissioning, and commissioning activities.
  • Responsible for the electrical design of a project and is expected to coordinate with internal and external stakeholders for electrical equipment/design related matters.
  • Prepare electrical design documents appropriate for the project and in accordance with applicable codes and standards.
  • Develop electrical single line diagrams, protection and metering diagrams, specifications, data sheets, electrical load list and equipment layout, electrical tie in list, electrical and instrument interface list, cable schedule, cable routing plan/drawings, standard drawings, MTO, assist in electrical cost estimate.
  • Responsible for basic power system analysis such as load flow study, short circuit study, dynamic motor starting study, relay coordination and system stability study using software (PSSE, ETAP, SKM, etc) for system study.
  • Selection and evaluation of electrical equipment/package/systems such as of generator, transformer, switchgear, MCC, UPS, Bus duct, VFD, UPS, Cables, distribution system (MV/LV switchgears, bus ducts, transformers, cables) and control systems etc.
  • Review and comment electrical design inputs to P&ID’s, plot plans, equipment list etc.
  • Carry out site surveys for greenfield and brownfield projects and generate site survey reports, electrical tie in plans and schedules.
  • Organize and arrange meetings with the client, vendors, sub-contractors and drive the project to meet the electrical deliverables schedule.
  • Carry out FAT of electrical systems at vendor workshop independently and ability to comment and witness the equipment performance requirements.
  • Carry out SAT, Loop test, interlock, function test and assist in electrical pre-commissioning and commissioning activities at site.
  • Interface with vendors/suppliers for budgetary quotes, vendor design deliverables including reviews and final approvals by client.
  • Prepare electrical project closeout, develop/update lessons learned and document.
Essential Responsibilities: The following are intended to be examples of the accountabilities for which the person in this position is responsible.   • Focus on engineering quality and schedule.
  • Prepare engineering execution plan (EEP) for the project. Plan and schedule electrical activities to meet the overall schedule.
  • Interact with clients, interpret their needs and requirements, and align teams internally with the expectations.
  • Assist in developing fit-for-purpose design and engineering quality compliance systems (workflows) including standard templates.
  • Review the electrical engineering tasks and initiate necessary corrective actions under guidance from Engineering Manager.
Secondary Responsibilities:
  • Carry out site surveys, field studies and reviews as required in full compliance with safety protocols and guidelines
  • Participate in constructability reviews, assist with documentation.
  • Support development of Tie in schedules and shutdown plans for electrical activities.
  • Support development of Pre-commissioning/Commissioning plans.
  • Project coordination and project engineering, if required.
  • Assist construction manager, if required.
Supervisory Responsibilities: The person in this position currently shall not have supervisory responsibility. However, depending upon individual interests, strengths and organizational needs, supervisory role shall be offered, if desired. QUALIFICATIONS:
  • A bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from reputable institute is must.
  • A minimum of ten (10) years of related experience in project development and engineering, consulting, FEED, EPCm preferably in LNG, Ammonia, Hydrogen & Power industry.
  • Possess good knowledge and technical knowhow of power evacuation system, distribution system (MV/LV switchgears, bus ducts, transformers, cables) and control systems.
  • Conversant with relevant local and international code and standards.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite products including Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook.
  • Working knowledge of successfully executed projects on HV/MV/LV substations, auxiliary power distribution, main and balance of plant interfaces, micro-grids, transmission & distribution, critical mission supply/facilities – data centres, oil & gas, LNG, refinery & petrochemicals, process, water, integrated waste management facilities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills & effective interpersonal skills.
  • Must consistently demonstrate strong analytical skills, be detail-oriented, highly organized, and self-motivated.
  • Can efficiently and effectively handle multiple and shifting priorities while working on multiple proposals and projects and meeting tight deadlines.
  • Delivery focussed approach, must take ownership, and drive the activities for closure as per client expectations.
  • Proactive & resourceful and hands-on with good initiative.
  • Independent contributor who can work well with minimal supervision.
