Summary: The Data Governance and Cybersecurity Supervisor will play a pivotal role in enhancing and safeguarding the organization's data integrity and security posture. This individual will be instrumental in developing, implementing, and overseeing a comprehensive data governance and cybersecurity framework. By collaborating with IT professionals and various departmental teams, the supervisor ensures the organization's data assets are accurate, secure, and utilized efficiently. Expertise in areas such as Data Quality, Master Data Management (MDM), Data Privacy, Compliance, Metadata Management, and Change Management is crucial. Familiarity with tools like Alation, Alteryx, and data storage solutions (Data Lakes, Warehouses) is advantageous. The role also involves troubleshooting system and operational issues, as well as guiding and mentoring Data Analysts. Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead initiatives in data integration, management, and cybersecurity, leveraging experience with Data Warehouse technologies and solutions (e.g., Data Catalogs, Data Quality, MDM).
  • Collaborate with Data Owners to govern enterprise data effectively, utilizing the right tools, forums, processes, and frameworks.
  • Execute requirement gathering, business analysis, and security architecture planning in alignment with data governance and cybersecurity goals, ensuring data optimally supports business objectives.
  • Drive the development and enforcement of enterprise metadata standards, guidelines, and processes to maintain high-quality metadata and support data governance efforts.
  • Establish and regularly update key Data Governance and Cybersecurity policies, standards, SOPs, etc., ensuring they align with business needs, technological advancements, and evolving cyber threats.
  • Implement a metrics and reporting framework to assess the effectiveness of the Governance and Cybersecurity program, identifying and acting on improvement opportunities.
  • Define clear roles, responsibilities, and processes for data governance, quality, and cybersecurity, fostering a unified understanding and management of data assets.
  • Build strong relationships with business users, delivering impactful analyses on risks, vulnerabilities, and security exposures, including recommendations for mitigating information asset misuse and noncompliance.
  • Oversee risk mitigation efforts and coordinate policy and control implementations, ensuring effective remediation steps by risk owners.
  • Lead the creation and execution of a Governance and Cybersecurity awareness program to enhance organizational knowledge and practices.
  • Proficiency in Alation, Informatica, or similar tools is beneficial.
Skills Minimum Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Data Science, or a related field.
  • Proven experience (8+ years) in data governance, data management, and cybersecurity within an enterprise setting.
  • Strong understanding of Data Warehouse technologies, Data Governance frameworks, and Cybersecurity solutions.
  • Demonstrated ability in leading cross-functional teams and projects.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Certifications in data governance, cybersecurity, or related fields (e.g., CISM, CISSP) are preferred
