The Wave, Bristol, are recruiting Kitchen Assistant’s to join us for our busy 2024 season. We have a number of fixed-term contracts available for a late April, May 2024 start. The Wave is a slice of the ocean inland, where people of all ages, backgrounds and abilities can experience the joy of surfing and its many physical and mental health benefits! Our F&B area can seat 300+ visitors (inside and out) and is a high-volume operation. We feed and water super hungry surfers, our guests staying at The Camp – a 25 safari tent set up introduced in 2021, and spectators who come to hang out in our amazing venue. As a Kitchen Assistant you will be part of a successful & growing business that delivers fantastic food, gives an amazing customer experience, brings the numbers in & is always safe, secure & legal. You will achieve this by playing your part in an amazing team, being engaged and empowered to provide them with the support needed to ensure we provide the best experience to our visitors each and every time Our Kitchen Assistants: ● Assist in the efficient running of the kitchen, working at pace to ensure that all equipment, crockery and utensils are clean and ready to replenish the front of house and kitchen areas ● Assist the team with basic food prep ● Knowledgeable in the proper use of the kitchen equipment ● Have great knowledge of our menu offerings and food ethos, this includes knowing our breakfast & clubhouse menus and our pop-up availability ● Use your initiative to follow the kitchen daily deep cleaning schedules and complete tasks when necessary ● Work to the highest levels of food and hygiene safety, so that the café is safe, legal and passes EHO and internal audits Our ideal Wavemaker will have a proactive & ambitious mindset with a desire to ‘muck in’ where needed across the business with an ability to work under pressure and a drive and determination to achieve the best.
