Medical Billing & Credentialing Specialist for Mental Health Practice

Zeeva Behavioral Health & Community Foundation is now hiring a Medical Billing & Credentialing Specialist to join our team! We are a nonprofit psychotherapy practice in Nevada and California. The right candidate will operate as a specialist with all practice-wide insurance billing and credentialing tasks and workflows.  The focus of this vital role is to foster positive relationships with our clients, insurance companies, while working collaborating with our administrative staff and therapists. The Specialist is also responsible for addressing client issues and responding to questions related to billing.   The ideal candidate must have the perfect balance of taking initiative, but also following direction and instruction. The ideal candidate comes with at least 2 years of experience in full cycle medical billing and credentialing . Must have experience with Medicare and Medicaid. Excellent cross-functional experience working with customer service and problem solving rejected claims and applications, to reduce our accounts receivables and workflows is a critical factor in this role. This position will be working under our Lead Billing Specialist.  Responsibilities include: 

• Submit claims daily
• Follow up with rejected/denied claims
• Insurance verifications for new prospective patients
• Handle prior authorizations for Nevada Medicaid
• Update client files with ERAs and any other payment adjustments
• Contact client regarding billing issues and/or insurance rejections
• Track A/R list and actively collect payment for claims over 30 days past due
• Strive to have 0 outstanding claims that are over 60 days past due
• Credential new providers with Medicaid, Medicare, and commercial payers, and follow up until completion
• Work alongside our lead biller, welcome coordinator, and admin team

Requirements: 

• 2-3+ years of experience as a medical billing and credentialing specialist
• Experience in behavioral/mental health setting preferred
• Strong verbal and written communications skills (in English)
• Excellent listening, problem solving, and negotiating skills
• Must be firm (and somewhat aggressive) about collecting payments
• Thrive on being busy and enjoy working in a busy and face paced environment
• Experience and comfortable using Google Sheets
• Proven ability to juggle multiple projects at a time, while maintaining sharp attention to detail

This is an hourly full-time position, with 8 paid days off a year. This is a remote, work from home position, that requires that you work Pacific Standard Time 8 am- 4 pm.
