Role Overview

As the Senior PHP Developer, you will be reporting to the Head of Product and will work with a highly efficient team of developers. You would be writing clean PHP code to a high standard in a timely and scalable way to improve the code-base of products in a meaningful way. You must be confident in writing Vanilla PHP code.

If you are successful, you would need to be able to travel to Cape Town for our clients onboarding programme for the first 2 weeks in their beautiful offices.

Technical Requirements:

BSc Degree in Computer Engineering/Computer Science or Relevant Software Related Qualification5+ years experience working as a PHP Developer or similar roleSolid experience on PHP 8, MySQL, Sass, Vue.js, Git, and RESTKnowledge and experience with one or more development methodologiesExtensive knowledge of software development and its technologiesStrong knowledge of user interfacesSolid troubleshooting skills

Being part of dev team, writing PHP code contributing to defined sprintsContribute in all phases of the development lifecycleCollaboration with the Lead developer and Product OwnerCollaborate with other developersDesign, code and maintain applications using best practicesCode development and architecture based on development lead specifications.Design and deliver scalable, secure code that enable the digital offeringDevelop and deploy new features to facilitate related procedures and tools if necessaryTroubleshoot, test and maintain the core product software and databases to ensure strong optimization and functionalitySupport projects through testing, reviewing and fixing defects as necessary.
