As the CTO, you will be a key leader responsible for shaping the technological direction of PayShepherd, playing a critical role in enhancing our technological capabilities and ensuring they align with the overall business objectives.In this role, you will be leading the development and implementation of cutting-edge technologies to propel PayShepherd forward in its industry. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize technology initiatives, ensuring that they not only meet current needs but also anticipate future trends and advancements.Key Job Duties and Responsibilities:Technology Strategy Development: Develop and articulate a clear technology strategy aligned with the overall business objectives and growth plans of PayShepherdInnovation Leadership: Identify emerging technologies and trends relevant to the software industry, providing insights and recommendations for innovation to maintain a strong competitive differentiation.Product and Engineering Roadmap: participate in the development and lead the execution of the product and engineering roadmap, ensuring alignment with business priorities and timely delivery of high-quality software solutions.Team Leadership: Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing technology team, fostering a collaborative and innovative culture. Provide guidance on technical decisions and contribute to the professional development of team members.Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with other departments, including product management, marketing, sales, and customer support/success, to ensure cohesive and integrated technology solutions that meet customer needs and business goals.Scalability and Performance: Oversee the scalability and performance of software systems, anticipating and addressing challenges associated with growth, increased user demands, and evolving technology requirements.Security and Compliance: Establish and enforce robust security, data & privacy measures, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations to protect sensitive data and maintain the integrity of software applications.Technology Partnerships: Identify and cultivate strategic partnerships with technology vendors, service providers, and other relevant entities to enhance the company's technological capabilities.Budget Management: Collaborate with executive leadership to develop and manage the technology budget, allocating resources efficiently to support ongoing operations and strategic initiatives.Risk Management: Proactively identify potential risks associated with technology initiatives and implement effective risk mitigation strategies to safeguard the company's assets and reputation.Skill Requirements:Demonstrated executive-level (7-10 years) experience in technology leadership roles within Series A or early-stage venture, emphasizing a strong understanding of the technology landscape specific to the company's growth stage.Experience setting up a scaling engineering team, inclusive of best in class engineering processes.Strong leadership skills with a track record of building and leading successful technology teams, fostering innovation, collaboration, and high performance.In-depth knowledge of software development, infrastructure, and emerging technologies, with a focus on driving technological advancements that contribute to revenue growth.Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.Expertise in designing and implementing scalable and high-performance software systems, contributing to the scalability of technology infrastructure to support the company's growth trajectory.Bonus points ifYou have experience in the payment processing or financial technology (FinTech) industry You have experience and exposure to systems and tools used in the heavy industries and manufacturing space.BenefitsGrowing team = lots of autonomyRemote-first culture, can work remote from anywhere in North AmericaGenerous stock option grantFull health and dental coverageNew Macbook Pro & accessories Swag provided at onboarding
