They are a venture- backed, growth-stage startup team that is passionate about food and have a desire to make sure food is continuously managed in a sustainable way. Their culture is transparent, honest and direct. As the Chief Operating Officer (COO), you will be responsible for the overall strategic and operational management of the company. You will collaborate with the founders, the senior leadership team, and other executives to develop and implement business strategies, establish and achieve operational goals, and drive the company's growth. You will leverage previous successes and create new initiatives to drive stability across all business units. The ability to lead and influence dynamic managers from various backgrounds is key in the execution of any plan. Key Responsibilities Collaborate with the executive team to align operations with the company's vision, mission, and strategic objectives. Develop and implement comprehensive operational strategies, including setting performance goals, managing budgets, and overseeing resource allocation. Function as the operational counterpart to the CEO; provide leadership, guidance, direction and consistency to organization at large. Ensure cohesive and effective cross-functional collaboration amongst all business units. Drive change throughout the organization as it grows and ensure flawless implementation and execution of plans. Foster a positive and collaborative work environment, ensuring high levels of employee engagement, motivation, and performance. Develop, monitor and analyze OKRs and KPIs to identify areas for improvement and drive continuous improvement initiatives. Reinforce a culture of high performance by creating systems of accountability to ensure the firm’s goals are met. Oversee supply chain management, including procurement, inventory control, distribution, and logistics. Recruit, retain and develop high performing A-player talents. Provide a sounding board to a founder and/or senior managers on matters of strategy, execution, operations, and structure. Key Requirements Minimum of 10 years of experience in operations management or a similar leadership role, preferably in the food or logistics industry. Strong ownership – Previous P&L responsibilities. Data-driven and analytical – you dislike uninformed assumptions and strive to track every single action to allow continuous improvement. Problem solver – Proven record of successful execution; you have proven successfully launching projects and / or businesses in the country assigned and you enjoy the exposure in managing complex operations. Experience in building a team from scratch. Proven track record in driving operational excellence, process improvement, and cost reduction, strong understanding of of supply chain management, logistics, and procurement Team player – Thirst to listen and learn from your team, ability to manage conflicts and commit to promises, candid and open-minded; humility is key. Servant leadership – Key to leading personas often found in our industry. The ability to influence – Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams. This role may be based Singapore/Malaysia/Indonesia and extensive travelling within Southeast Asia is required.
