Senior Vice President, Chief Diversity Officer
The Chief Diversity Officer at Visa is a pivotal role for a visionary leader who will accelerate the momentum of our well-established global Inclusion and Diversity (I&D) initiatives. This leader will be instrumental in propelling a global approach to Visa’s I&D vision, strategies, policies and programs. We are looking for an individual who can inspire change, break down barriers, and foster an environment of inclusivity that resonates across our global organization. Key responsibilities include:- Lead a team of 15+ professionals to build on our global strategy for I&D across the globe, leveraging the regional teams to develop deeper insights into the unique challenges within each region and to operationalize the strategy. Provide leadership to the regional I&D teams to ensure alignment with the global priorities.
- Collaborate closely with the Executive team to further develop Visa's long-term vision for I&D. Serve as an accountable strategic advisor to the CEO and Executive team, ensuring our I&D strategy is consistently integrated into Visa's business practices, goals, and metrics. Foster a culture of accountability throughout the organization, promoting the importance and impact of our I&D initiatives.
- Leverage expertise on current and emerging global social trends to drive initiatives which uphold our purpose both internally and externally. Drive link between Employee Value Proposition, our Purpose and our I&D platforms.
- Enhance Visa’s external reputation as a leader in I&D, expanding our relationships externally across the I&D ecosystem. Responsible for representing Visa’s I&D strategy externally, to prospective hires and to reinforce our commitment to I&D with key external partners. Build on Visa’s strong brand to continue to embed our inclusive culture and diversity focus into external partnerships.
- Design operations and investment processes to improve I&D outcomes in corporate and social-responsibility efforts.
- Lead the strategy for Visa’s highly engaged Employee Resource Groups, partnering with the Executive sponsors and employee leaders of each group to define their goals, objectives, and plans. Engage with these teams to continue to drive their impact globally.
- Lead the planning, prioritization, implementation and operations of Visa’s I&D programs and initiatives ensuring strategic and business relevance, employee engagement and productivity.
- Shape Visa culture by addressing issues of inclusion and diversity head-on to build an organizational culture that works for all stakeholders—employees, managers, senior leaders, executives, the board of directors, etc. Ensure everyone is clear on I&D goals and are working to foster a positive and inclusive work environment.
- Collaborate with key stakeholders in the business to drive progress across all departments in the organization to establish consistent inclusion initiatives, leverage data to identify areas of the organization that lack diversity and create business-specific as well as enterprise-wide inclusion and diversity plans.
- Play a key leadership role in fostering community and innovation through targeted programs and initiatives thereby championing diverse efforts across the full landscape of Visa.
- Address I&D topics within broader committees such as the People Team, established I&D councils, and groups of cross-functional decision makers to drive goals and initiatives.
- Form and leverage executive partnerships including C-suite and complex, global relationships including multi-lateral sponsorships (i.e. World Bank, UN) to expand Visa’s external presence in I&D focused discussion arenas.
- Drive the development of our inclusive culture; knitting together the components of our client focus, marketing, people, social impact, and Visa Foundation priorities needed to ensure the broad cultural impact of the I&D vision.
- Ensure Visa maintains a strong I&D reporting, regulatory and compliance framework on a global basis with clear infrastructure and systems to provide measurement and accountability for short- and long-term goals.

- 15 years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor's Degree or 12 years of relevant work experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters/MBA/JD/MD) or 10 years relevant work experience with a PhD
- 20 years of relevant work experience in people or inclusion and diversity related roles with a Bachelor's Degree or 15 years of relevant work experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters/MBA/JD/MD) or 12 years relevant work experience with a PhD
- 15 years of experience working with senior executives developing strategic initiatives that encourage diversity and inclusion across the organization.
- Strong influencing skills with experience shaping arguments for senior leadership and board members.
- Experience driving and measuring impactful change in a multinational organization.
- Knowledge of global public policy, staying abreast of emerging federal and state laws and legislation as it pertains to diversity and inclusion.
