Broster Buchanan is working with a well-established and award-winning International Travel & Event Management Company who are continuing to grow and add headcount to their business. They are looking for a Commercial Director for their Meetings and Events space to join and start creating commercial terms with their global suppliers (hotel chains, meeting space chains etc) to increase ROI and profitability per event. This role will be on a hybrid basis, with 2/3 days onsite in their offices in central London per week (with Monday being a mandatory day) and 2/3 days remote. A salary of £80k - £100k basic + 20% bonus is on offer. Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive commercial strategy to drive revenue growth and market share within the Events sector
  • Pillars of the strategy will include Supplier Management and collaboration and coordination with internal stakeholders for reporting needs, delivery on the end to end commercial contract cycle, and projection and pipeline forecasting
  • Work alongside other commercial colleagues to raise awareness around Meetings and Events and align on the global supplier strategy
  • Monitor industry trends, market dynamics, and competitor activities to identify emerging opportunities and threats
  • Collaborate closely with internal teams, including Sales, Operations, and Marketing, to align commercial strategies with organisational goals and objectives
  • Track and analyse key performance metrics, including revenue targets, sales pipeline, client retention rates, and profitability
  • Prepare regular reports and presentations summarising commercial performance, trends, and insights
Requirements:
  • Significant experience in commercial and/or business development roles within the Meetings & Events industry, ideally in a similar Travel and Event Management company
  • Deep understanding of the Meetings & Events market, including industry trends, client needs, and competitor landscape
  • Strong negotiation and contract management skills, with a track record of successfully closing deals and achieving revenue targets
  • Strategic thinker with analytical abilities to assess market opportunities, develop actionable insights, and drive informed decision-making
