Te Tūranga | About the role As the Head of Transport, you will provide strategic, visionary leadership and direction to the Transport division. You will adopt a strong collaborative effort to help develop, shape and execute forward thinking strategies that are aligned with the city's growth plans. You will lead the charge in creating, operating and maintaining a future-ready, sustainable and efficient transport network that puts the needs of the community and customers at the forefront of transport activity planning. Cultivating a high-performing team will unlock the key to your success. Pave the way for our community by leading our capital infrastructure programme that shapes the city's infrastructure and ensures it is well operated and maintained. The role will be the face of Transport and requires the ability to front the media as well as build and maintain credible professional relationships with both internal and external stakeholders. Your leadership will leave a lasting legacy. Ngā Pukenga | What you'll need to succeed To succeed in this role, you'll bring;

  • A Civil Engineering Degree and/or relevant qualification/experience in business management.
  • Continuous improvement and change management experience.
  • Proven experience in a senior leadership role in transportation, demonstrating effective leadership, strategic vision and a track record of successful project delivery.
  • Political savviness.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a flair for community engagement.
