Listed 6 days Ago Horowhenua District Council Enabling what matters  The Community Infrastructure Group are seeking an engineer to join our dynamic Three Waters Team as the Water Quality, Conservation and Supply Lead . As a crucial part of the team and reporting directly to the Three Waters Manager, your pivotal role involves providing dedicated support to the Horowhenua Alliance and overseeing Council's water supply and demand issues, while also offering assistance across various facets within the Three Waters Team. Your responsibilities encompass monitoring and ensuring compliance across our water supply networks, treatment plants, and water conservation projects within the community. This involves data analysis, on-site investigations, and monitoring activities, providing important information and recommendations to the Three Waters Manager to address site-specific issues. Moreover, you will actively contribute to managing compliance data for reporting purposes, ensuring operational adherence to the standards set by Horizons Regional Council, Taumata Arowai, and Horowhenua District Council (HDC) for seamless project administration and service delivery. As the ideal candidate for this role you should possess a relevant engineering qualification or extensive experience in the Water Industry. You should have hands-on experience with Local Authority Three Waters networks, data analysis, and report writing. Familiarity with legislation like the Local Government Act, Water Services Act 2021, and wastewater and trade waste bylaws is essential. Proficiency in Microsoft Office/365, and previous exposure to Infrastructure Data and SCADA systems would be advantageous. A strong emphasis on high performance, exceptional relationship-building skills, and the ability to excel in public liaison and customer service are key attributes. You should demonstrate technical proficiency, problem-solving ability, attention to detail, reliability, and a proactive attitude, all while remaining calm under pressure. Collaboration with team members, a thirst for learning, quick adaptation to new information and technologies, and a knack for applying technical concepts to practical solutions are essential traits.
