Fitness Center Lead/CrossFit

Overview **This position will be physically located in Kuwait in support of LOGCAP** Under supervision of the MWR Supervisor, Fitness Center Lead p rovides customer service/public relations in a fitness-type facility. Position requires extensive interaction with a large customer base with the ability to handle customer issues. Maintains accurate event/facility attendance records for programs. Handles telephone inquiries, greets visitors, and provides information. Ensures security and accountability of both Government-furnished and expendable equipment/property. Ensures cleanliness/serviceability of equipment and check-out items. CrossFit Level 1 Certification or higher is preferred but not a requirement. Responsibilities This position description is subject to change at any time as needed to meet the requirements of the program or company.

• Minimum Qualifications: Education/Certifications: One-year related experience may be substituted for one year of education, if degree is required.
  • High school diploma or equivalent. Must provide a copy of diploma.
  • Ability to obtain host country driver’s license.
  • Must be CAC eligible and/or ability to obtain a CAC
• Experience :
  • CPR/AED and First Aid certification from a nationally/internationally accredited agency required within 60 days of hire.
  • Personal trainer/fitness instructor certifications from a nationally (American) or internationally recognized accrediting agency preferred but not required.
  • Must possess strong computer skills and a high proficiency in all Microsoft Office applications.
  • Must be able to read, write, and speak English fluently.
• Skills
  • Proficiency level for reading, speaking, and writing in English at level 3.
  • Requires strong interpersonal skills to work with internal and external customers.
• Working Conditions:
  • Must be capable of working in an extreme weather conditions with temperatures exceeding 120 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Indoor and/or outdoor environment with very adverse and harsh conditions (i.e., hot, dry, duty, desert environment with average temperatures of 30 degrees in the winter and 130 degrees in the summer months).
  • Includes some industrial production environment conditions as well.
• Physical Requirements:
  • Medium work. Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. If the use of arm and/or leg controls requires exertion of forces greater than that for sedentary work and the worker sits most of the time, the job is rated for light work.
  • Work may require heavy lifting, stooping, climbing, prolonged standing, prolonged sitting, and working with or in areas where a potential could exist for exposure to physical, chemical, or biological agents.
  • Employee use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required for some situations. PPE includes, but is not limited to, head, foot, torso, respiratory, vision, and hearing protective devices.
  • Must comply with all Fire and Safety Regulations and post policies
