JOB DESCRIPTION Marriott International is seeking a high potential intern who is passionate and keen to establish a career in communications and/or a career in the hospitality industry. The intern will work for Marriott International's Asia Pacific Corporate Communications team based in the Singapore office. The intern will play a crucial role in supporting continent projects for both corporate and brand communications. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- The intern will assist in providing operational support and the key responsibilities include:
- Support the communications teams on new and on-going projects which span across corporate comms, consumer PR, as well as admin related tasks.
- Support the roll-out of PR initiatives which reinforce the positioning of Marriott International and its portfolio of 31 brands
- Coordinate project work with other functional departments which includes the delivery of PR campaigns, content partnerships and media events
- Drafting media related materials, which could include press releases, media pitches, creating presentations etc.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills; ability to work effectively in a collaborative work environment, especially in a multicultural team, and with all departments - both above property and at the hotels.
- Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills, result-oriented nature
- Self-starter with strong problem-solving skills
- Detail-oriented and deadline-sensitive
- Take initiative and act quickly to support and deliver projects in a professional manner
- PC skills- MS Office programs (Strong in Excel. Basic knowledge of Word and PowerPoint)
- Team player with the ability to work with external parties and with all levels of the organization
