This role supports the Events Team to produce both internal and external events, digital and in-person, working closely with the Business Development (BD) Management Team and each of the Target Market Groups (TMG’s) to produce high quality, strategy focused events. The Events Manager role is specifically significant to the success of the Events Team function in that they are leading on the delivery and management of the events whilst also working strategically. The role also provides a supportive and knowledgeable contact for the team. What does the role actually involve? Event planning and management

  • Provide day-to-day leadership and support to the Events team including providing guidance on events planning and design and stakeholder management.
  • Work with the Head of Marketing and Senior Marketing and Events Manager to deliver the events strategy set out by the Exec board in line with our business objectives.
  • Liaise closely with the TMGs and BD teams to plan and execute a strategically focused programme of client events while adhering to sector budgets and suiting both the sectors the event team’s workload respectively.
  • To lead on the logistical management of complex, large events (live and digital) with an eye for detail, but also proactively design events to showcase the firm’s expertise and heighten our visibility within various markets.
  • Oversee the delivery and events management processes for all external facing marketing events including kick off meetings, delegate management, delegate communications, ensuring internal stakeholders meet agreed deadlines as set by the events team, onsite management, supplier management, post event admin and debrief meetings.
  • Oversee the events marketing calendar, booking and planning up to 200 events and webinar per annum.
  • Provide a high-quality advisory service to teams/individuals running their own events.
  • Lead on the monthly planning meetings that are held with the BD Managers.
  • Review the success of individual external facing seminars/events and feeding back to sectors with suggestions for improvement, where relevant.
Team management
  • Line management responsibility for a minimum of one Senior Events Executive and one Events Executive
  • Monitor the events team workload/capacity and managing this effectively by delegating smaller events to Front of House (FOH) teams.
  • Set high standards of integrity, punctuality, accuracy, politeness and professionalism and lead by example at all times.
Development and innovation
  • Lead on discovering new opportunities for the business to engage with clients.
  • Optimise processes around the delivery of events to ensure a seamless service to stakeholders and clients.
  • Work closely with the wider Client & Marketing team to ensure events activity is joined up with other marketing activity where appropriate.
  • Keep up to date with developments in the event industry (in particular around event technology) and, where appropriate, incorporating them into the current event offering.
  • Innovate with technology to maximize efficiencies of pre and post event processes.
  • Work on the continuous improvement of suppliers and consumables and to manage the negotiation of costs and contracts along with associated risk assessments.
  • Pro-actively seeking feedback with a view to ensuring 5 star service and future proofing the events function.
Other
  • Ensure firm brand standards are always applied, to create a positive experience.
  • Liaise closely with the in-house FOH teams including reception, catering, and IT, to ensure smooth running of all client events and that standards are being upheld.
  • Provide cover for the FOH Team Leaders absence/holidays in emergency situations if required.
  • Assist with ad-hoc projects as required.
What technical skills are required for someone to be successful and enjoy the role?
  • 5+ years’ experience in an events role preferably within a professional services company.
  • Digital event management experience as well as traditional methods.
  • Will be degree educated in events management, marketing, or a related degree.
  • Experience with webinar or online event platforms such as ON24.
  • Experience with CRM systems in particular, Interaction.
  • Experience with email marketing systems such as Vuture.
  • Excellent writing, attention to detail and communication skills.
  • Experience managing budgets more than £10k.
  • Experience with the recruitment process.
