Facility Planning Consultant (2-year term) The Department of Health and Social Services works under the direction of the Minister and Deputy Minister, in partnership with the Health and Social Services Authorities, to support the health and wellbeing of people across the NWT through planning, development, evaluation and reporting on program and service delivery. Job Information

Scope Located in Yellowknife, the position provides expert advice to both the Department and the three (3) Health and Social Services Boards. The incumbent is responsible for the development and monitoring of a multimillion dollar capital and O&M budgets, the support, monitoring and evaluation of facilities in health and social services boards of management, and the planning and monitoring over seventy (70) health and social services facilities in all communities in the NWT. Reporting to the Director, Infrastructure Planning the position must work extensively with representatives from the Department, Boards, Communities, Colleagues and Privatesector. The work is conducted to a large extent in a team environment, including Health and Social Services, Boards, Department of Infrastructure and many other stakeholders, oftenrequiring travel to regions and communities. The position does retain overall authority and responsibility for all final design and delivery decisions. Typically attained by: These skills are normally acquired through a Bachelor Degree in Architecture/Engineering plus 7 years of relevant experience or a Diploma in Architectural/Engineering Technology plus 9 years of relevant experience. A minimum of 2 years cold/remote location experience is preferred.
