Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Establish process for manufacturing and create work instruction for assembly in MES System.
- Evaluate manufacturing process and create process control plan, PFMEA and Risk assessment.
- Must comply to POR and CE! Compliance.
- Work with Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality department to drive Continuous improvement on quality, efficiency and manufacturing cycle time.
- Initiate and support Design for Excellence and manufacturing process improvement / standardization.
- Engage with IE to optimize layout and product layout floor for new and existing plants
- Implement Lean line using DFT concept with relevant Jig and Fixture.
- Technical solve and support for trouble shooting issue, quality issue, first pass yield issue
- Participate in product transfer: Coordinate the team for training, understand the equipment, facility requirement, build and test requirements)
- Liaise and coordinate with Engineering and Material department on spec, BOM and material changes/issues
- Liaise and coordinate with Quality department on Supplier quality and Customer quality issue including RCCA, 8D preparation.
- Liaise and coordinate with Test Engineering department on testing development or testing issue
- Liaise with customer for all BOM / drawing / design issue by generating problem report / supplier problem sheet / Supplier request deviation with single page summary.
- Involve in MRB (Material Review Board) meeting, make justifiable disposition, analyst data and work with relevant departments / suppliers to reduce non-conformance.
- Minimum CAD knowledge to analyst 3D drawing from customer.
- Initiate Engineering change and waiver for any change required.
- Working in ERP System for engineering master control and change.
- Establish test process for manufacturing and create work instruction for test in MES System. And provide detailed training to all test technicians.
- Evaluate test process and create test Process control, PFMEA and Risk assessment.
- Must comply with POR and CE! Compliance.
- Define the FPY failure category and defects, collect data’s, analysis and identify the gaps.
- Work with Production, Manufacturing engineers and Supplier quality engineers, drive by effective actions to fix the failures with permanent solutions.
- Drive for continuous improvement on quality, efficiency and test cycle time.
- Maintain the test fixtures by schedule frequent equipment preventive maintenance, critical parts control.
- Develop troubleshooting guides for test technicians.
- Participate in new product transfer by coordinate the team for training, understand the equipment, facility requirement, build and test requirements.
- Coordinate with Engineering and Material department on spec, BOM and material changes/issues.
- In-depth knowledge required on parts level drawings and schematics to perform component level troubleshooting.
- Liaise and coordinate with Quality department on Supplier quality and Customer quality issue including RCCA, 8D preparation.
- Work with Customer for all BOM / drawing / design issue related to test by generating problem report / supplier problem sheet / Supplier request deviation with single page summary.
- Monitor and improve on the qualified process using SPC and other statistical tools.
- Drive functional excellence of the production engineering team.
- Drive continuous improvement activities in quality, cycle times, process improvement, machine availability through lean techniques and value engineering to enhance the capability of existing processes and remove waste.
- Develop, implement and manage key performance indicators (KPIs) for each area of responsibility.
- Ensure KPIs were met by working to the overall plan, including management of, and reporting.
- Conduct risk assessments of processes and tasks in the department.
- Motivate and coach the team to operational success.
- Monitor the completion of tasks and ensure good performance and record on appropriate systems.
- Consistently promote high standards through personal example and roll out through the team so that each member of the team understands the standards and behaviors expected of them.
- Review, implement and update company records e.g. training matrices, performance reviews, risk assessments.
- Lead the team in new product and process introduction.
- Set department objectives/KPIs and review and assess ongoing performance of direct reports.
- Communicate KPIs from the strategic annual plan so that each employee is aware.
- Report on achievement of targets and identify any actions required.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure optimal performance.
- Work collaboratively, negotiate and engage with key stakeholders to facilitate delivery and compliance with the manufacturing strategy.
- Communicate with stakeholders the impact of market change and potential effects on manufacturing design and development. Recommend solutions without compromising quality or service while optimizing cost.
- Stay current and up to date on any technology changes that may affect manufacturing design and development and advise others of any impact.
- Ensure an effective interface with other departmental staff is maintained.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical/Electrical/Electronics /Mechatronics/Industrial Systems Engineering.
- Diploma in Mechanical / Electrical / Electronics / Mechatronics / Industrial Systems Engineering with minimum 5 years working experience in related field can apply.
- Minimum 3-year relevant experience (5 years for diploma holder).
- Exposure to semiconductor industry preferred.
- Experience on setting up lean line will be very important.
- Know and able to explore full BOM structure (more than 1,000 line) is needed.
- Self-motivated and resourceful.
- Possesses drive with “can-do” attitude.
- Capable of developing positive work relationship, a favorable work environment within the team and other functional group.
- Must able to perform and demonstrate good workmanship understanding according to industrial standard.
- Good interpersonal, communication and presentation skill.
- Able to perform any other task assigned by manager / supervisor.
- Comply to work ethics and integrity.
- Understanding the concepts of pressure, vacuum and leak detector.
- Familiarity with control systems utilized in industrial production and process automation, industrial standards for Safety and compliance, and serial communication protocols.
- Must be able to perform component level troubleshooting.
- Excellent problem solving, debugging skills, investigative minds and paying attention.
- Good knowledge of electrical theories, wiring and routing.
- Strong verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
- Candidate with Six Sigma Knowledge is a plus.
