Assistant Vice President, DM - Regional Data Science COE MY

Key Responsibilities * Strategy and Planning 

• Support and build regional decision sciences team with data science and analytical capabilities
• Responsible for supporting Big Data analytics for regional initiatives.
• Leverage state of the art algorithms to deliver value of big data to business.

• Data mining using state-of-the-art methods, keeping abreast with latest developments in machine learning and applying them to solve business problems
• Selecting features, building and optimizing classifiers using machine learning techniques 
• Extending company’s data with third party sources of information when needed
• Enhancing data collection procedures to include information that is relevant for building analytic systems
• Processing, cleansing, and verifying the integrity of data used for analysis
• Doing ad-hoc analysis and presenting results in a clear manner
• Creating automated anomaly detection systems and constant tracking of its performance

• Develop and share inhouse capability for Data science stream ,train and reskill the existing resources.
• Manage day to day projects, and mentor, coach and motivate junior members for high performance.
• Work across the Region (Malaysia,Singapore,Indonesia and Thailand) to champion and share Data Science best practice. 

• Ensures all Group Consumer operations are in compliance with Group, local and regional regulations 

• Bachelor's Degree or Professional Qualification in the relevant discipline (Financial/Engineering/Computer Science/Actuarial Science/Statistics)

• Candidate must have at least 7-10 years of hands on experience in statistical modeling using machine learning techniques 

• Demonstrated experience in applying and implementing machine learning techniques like neural networks, SVM, recommender engines, deep learning algorithms etc
• Strong knowledge of common data science toolkits like tools like R / Kxen/ Python. 
• Familiar in SQL and visualization tool such as Excel, QlikView and Tableau.
• Knowledge in Big Data Tools (e.g. Hive, Impala, Hadoop and Spark) is an added advantage.

• Strong presentation and influencing skills, required in guiding and assisting teams in putting forward proposals for clients, whenever necessary
• Good reputation and business network in the Consumer banking community Internationally
• Proven track record of achieving sales targets, product development and management
