What We’re Looking For: The Shared Services Director will be responsible for the delivery of the professional Global HR Shared Services function. This role will oversee the HR Shared Services team and be responsible for overall service delivery on behalf of the Global HR function and the business. The Global Shared Services team will be responsible for managing the HR service desk, onboarding, offboarding, data and document management, and maintenance of the HRIS (Workday). The Shared Services team will be the first point of contact for HR Queries and will provide resolution to all tier 1 cases. The Shared Services Director will be responsible for establishing an environment of service excellence and for high performance of this team. This role is hybrid, based out of our office in Cape Town. Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To: Process Creation and Implementation

  • Create and continuously improve the required governance, policy and risk management frameworks for HR Shared Services.
  • Implement scalable and sustainable processes for the team, enabling them to support the organization effectively.
  • Seek ways to improve the HR Shared Service offerings and work to expand the tier 1 service catalog by working closely within the People Team on transition of work to this more effective model.
  • Provide directional and /or strategic guidance to ensure consistent implementation of Shared Service strategy.
Team Management
  • Manage Shared Service Specialist day-to-day operations.
  • Support, supervise and drive performance of direct reports and set clear goals that align strategically to the business mission.
  • Create an inspiring team environment with an open communication culture, motivating team members and devise and refine strategies to strengthen team engagement and morale.
  • Act as escalation point between Shared Service Specialist and the broader HR team.
  • Manage allocations and capacity planning to ensure effective support to the Global HR team.
  • Ensure team is meeting and exceeding KPI’s and report on this on a weekly basis and provide justification and remediation strategies for poor performance.
Stakeholder Management
    • Work closely with the relevant stakeholders to ensure that the Shared Services team is providing the services required.
    • Manage relationships with the internal HR team to understand how to improve support.
    • Work with HR Leadership to inform future state of the Shared Services team.
Things That Should Be In Your Background:
  • Relevant qualification (HR or IS preferred).
  • 6-8 years functional experience.
  • 3 years people management experience in a shared services or operations environment.
  • HR systems familiarity (WorkDay preferred).
  • Good understanding of consulting and HR activities.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and leadership skills.
  • Keen judgement and decision-making skills.
  • Good business acumen.
  • High service delivery and performance mindset.
  • Strong coaching and knowledge sharing ability.
