The IT Service Technician will support the Xerox and Navy in performing equipment modifications. Responsibilities
- Install Xerox and 3rd party equipment onboard Navy vessels
- Diagnose and repair all scoped equipment
- Perform remote service support for the Navy
- Deliver technical repair training to Navy personnel via classroom setting
- Supply and Parts ordering, tracking, delivery, and overall management
- Anticipates customer needs and identifies appropriate alternatives
- Provide a support role during the rollout of the technical solutions and equipment installations
- Provide service activity, repairs, retrofits, and maintenance activities on Xerox equipment
- Actively communicate with colleagues to share technical information
- Manage relationships with the client to optimize customer satisfaction
- Recommend product replacements as necessary
- Able to develop and implement processes and procedures for the Internal Navy team, then provide training and documentation
- Composes a comprehensive test plan and procedures to test Xerox equipment to meet Navy/DoD requirements
- Other duties as assigned
- High School diploma, Associate degree in IT similar field preferred
- Prior Navy or Military experience
- Experience with troubleshooting application & network related issues with equipment
- CompTIA A+; Comp TIA Network+ preferred
- Passport required
- Ability to obtain a Secret clearance
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work a flexible schedule.
- Ability to successfully interact with Military Officers
- Ability to multitask and prioritize many initiatives simultaneously
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
- Quick learner – not shying away from understanding technology
- Team player who is comfortable taking direction and collaborating with team
- Ability to manage/work in a cross-functional team/environment
- Good interpersonal skills, comfortable meeting new people, characterized by professional, self-confident, and friendly demeanor
- Ability to grasp technical information about Xerox products
- Evidence of experience working within virtual teams
- Attention to detail with strong organizational skills
- Proven ability to communicate and influence at all levels of the business
- Responsive and able to prioritize
- Experience in a field-based service role
- Skills in the use of diagnostic tools, such as multi-meter’s
- Good communication and reporting skills
- Customer-focused mentality
- Self-starter, the successful candidate will be well organized, operating with minimal supervision
