Job Summary The role operates as a Global Engineering expert as part of the Rotating Equipment team within the Asset Technology Centre with the purpose to drive the Asset Integrity Vision for fostering continuous improvement in Reducing operational risks, Increasing revenue and optimizing cost across all Manufacturing sites globally. This is a technical specialist role providing support to turbomachinery group for resolution of vibration issues as experienced in high speed turbomachinery. The key responsibility is to carry out rotor dynamic analysis involving complex shafting systems, bearings, seals in high speed turbomachines using specialized software. Evaluate outputs of study and provide options towards resolution of issues. Job role may also involve conducting studies to validate rotor dynamic analysis for new equipment and rerates of existing turbomachines. Key Responsibilities: Technical Leadership:

  • Identify, evaluate, and develop This Company Manufacturing Standards for Turbomachines, rotordynamics, and rotor balancing.
  • Identify, evaluate, and develop engineering Best Practices (BP) for Turbomachines, rotordynamics, and rotor balancing.
  • Ensure timely review of This Company Engineering Standards related to Turbomachines, rotordynamics, and rotor balancing.
  • Monitor the market for new ideas, innovations, and identify novel solutions for Compressors within This Company.
  • Engage with key OEMs to address design issues affecting asset reliability and to stay informed about upcoming technological improvements.
Strategy and Planning:
  • Support Team Lead in developing and managing rotating equipment annual and five-year work plans with specific deliverables for Compressors.
  • Conduct annual Performance Killer analysis based on actual production loss data to generate Resolution Plans (PKRP) recommending specific actions to mitigate common failure modes.
Technical Support and Engagement:
  • Provide technical support to the Turbomachinery Expert group through rotordynamics analysis using software like Dyrobes, Ansys, or XLrotor.
  • Conduct rotordynamics modeling, bearing and seal analysis for turbomachinery for their responses, stability, integrity, and assess interaction with surrounding systems.
  • Evaluate study outputs, compare with observed rotor behavior, and offer resolutions to high vibration issues.
  • Work with Regional Asset Support (RAS) team to provide technical support and consultation to resolve chronic failures/issues globally.
  • Support This Company manufacturing in technical audits, assessments, cold eye reviews, and remaining life assessment initiatives.
  • Participate in failure analysis of actual/potential incidents with C1/C2 classifications.
  • Provide expert knowledge on safety and reliability related programs applicable to This Company SHEMS and OMS.
  • Validate rotordynamics studies carried out by OEMs for new equipment and during rerates.
Knowledge and Network Management:
  • Communicate critical business cases through Technical Alerts (TA) to Global Manufacturing.
  • Participate in internal and external rotating equipment technical networks, forums, conferences, and committees.
  • Manage the Turbomachinery Expert Group ensuring adherence to Operating Rhythm Charter for Networking and Knowledge sharing.
Competency Development, Mentoring, and Coaching:
  • Develop and deliver specialized, quality training to This Company manufacturing engineers globally.
  • Develop, maintain, and retain top-quality rotating equipment expertise through effective training, mentoring, and coaching.
General:
  • Comprehend and apply legal guidelines in the rotating equipment department.
Requirements:
  • This role required candidate to permanently relocate at Jubail, Saudi Arabia.
  • Bachelor's Degree of Science (BS) in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Manufacturing Experience encompassing Technical engineering, Maintenance Management, Reliability, and Project Management.
  • Minimum of 15 years of experience, with at least 7 years in the Petrochemical and Oil and Gas industry.
  • Extensive experience in using rotor dynamic software such as Dyrobes, Ansys, XLRotor, Matlab, and with Finite Element Analysis (FEA).
  • Specific experience in Design/Engineering involving rotor dynamic aspects of turbomachines with a major OEM.
  • Field experience in Vibration data collection and analysis.
  • Thorough knowledge of general principles and theories related to engineering and contributes significantly to the solution of a variety of unique and complex engineering problems.
  • Experience in people management and ability to use influence to achieve results.
  • Flexible and able to reprioritize tasks based on changing business needs.
  • Desire and ability to self-teach new software programs or systems.
  • Excellent communication skills, both interpersonal and presentation skills, to all levels including executive management.
  • Above-average proficiency in English language (written and spoken).
  • Proficient in MS Office applications, with advanced knowledge of MS Excel.
  • Experience within the Gulf States would be advantageous.
  • Knowledge of petrochemicals rotating equipment engineering.
  • Strong leadership skills and ability to work with and lead diverse/multi-cultural groups of professional employees across regions.
  • Team player with the ability to motivate and drive cross-cultural teams towards achieving Expert group objectives.
  • Able to work in a global organization.
