We are actively seeking an experienced Financial Accountant to join our team for the European Finance Centre based in Limerick. This position will report into the Senior Manager, General Accounting for the European Finance Centre and will be part of the team looking after the operational and statutory finance function for the European based entities. Responsibilities :

  • Responsible for the month-end close for a number of European entities.
  • Calculation, posting and analysis of monthly accruals and prepayments, ensuring that all items are accurately captured.
  • Responsible for calculation, posting and reconciliation of intercompany revenue for the ADI Sales and Design offices throughout Europe.
  • Preparation of monthly Income Statement and Balance Sheet reconciliations.
  • Preparation of Quarterly Schedules for reporting to Corporate Headquarters.
  • Preparation of VAT returns for several countries throughout Europe.
  • Assist Shared Services Centre with operation and maintenance of the fixed assets system on SAP for multiple company codes.
  • Assist in the preparation and review of annual Statutory Financial Statements for a number of different reporting entities, adhering to strict deadlines.
  • Liaising with external auditors, accounting partners and other authorities and institutions as required.
  • Review and approval of monthly payroll for multiple countries throughout Europe.
  • Responsible for providing vacation and payroll related reporting to relevant stakeholders.
  • Generation of monthly cash forecasts for multiple countries.
  • Review and approval of payments to third party vendors in multiple currencies throughout Europe.
  • Assist with the co-ordination of Finance Contractors on different sites.
  • Assist with M&A activity across Europe.
  • Ensure compliance with SOX control procedures and corporate/local policies and support the implementation of robust internal controls for each site.
  • Assist with streamlining processes within the Finance Team.
  • Assist in transition of processes to Shared Services Centre.
  • Actively seek to implement continuous improvement in area of responsibility.
  • Assist the Finance Manager and other members of the Finance Team on all finance functions and ad-hoc matters as appropriate. 
Qualifications & Competencies
  • Business Studies/Commerce/Finance Degree.
  • Knowledge of US GAAP, FRS102 and IFRS desirable.
  • Good working knowledge of SAP / S/4Hana preferable.
  • Exposure to working in a multicurrency environment.
  • An ability to work to tight deadlines and manage multiple issues simultaneously.
  • High sense of urgency is crucial.
  • Highly motivated, proactive, assertive, and decisive.
  • Hands on pragmatic approach to problem solving.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
