About Our Client Our client is a global consulting firm, specialising in Sustainability consulting for multiple industries. They are looking for a Managing Consultant, Corporate Sustainability and Climate Change to be based in Malaysia. Job Description As the Principal Consultant, Biodiversity, you will lead projects, provide strategic guidance, and contribute to the development of nature-based solutions that align with our clients' sustainability goals. Key Responsibilities:

  • Delivering consulting services to client in - Sustainability strategy and program development and implementation, and sustainability reporting.
  • Fulfill certain internal management responsibilities of including: planning and budgeting, training and professional development of the sustainability consultants, and interfacing with other practice areas and project teams.
  • The candidate should have experience in developing direct reports, business and client skills.
  • Have significant responsibility for managing key accounts and large-scale Sustainability program, developing sustainability communications for key stakeholders, identifying and developing new business opportunities.
  • Consulting experience and/or proven ability to perform the key functions of a consultant, including: developing and maintaining client relationships; pursuing and creating business opportunities; and managing multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlines with little oversight.
  • Build on client relationships and internal networks , conduct marketing activities, and project sales.
  • Where appropriate work with the other service teams on opportunities, proposals, projects and other marketing/business activities across the team , the company and broadly client global business.
  • Acting as a role model and mentor to new joiners and junior consultants.
The Successful Applicant
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline; Master's degree preferred (environmental engineering, economic, industrial engineering, public policy, environmental science, business administration).
  • At least 6-8 year experience in Sustainability related topics with deep environmental expertise and climate change.
  • Good knowledge in sustainability guidelines such as GRI, FTSE4Good, Bursa requirement and ISO26000/14000 would be an advantage.
  • Strong and demonstrable project management experience with a skill set in relevant project management tools.
  • Strong writer and ability to translate complex issues into concise, relevant stories.
  • Strong analytical, logic, problem solver and systematic thinking skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English are desired, along with facilitation skills.
  • Have good inter-personal skills, engagement skills and ability to facilitate participation from others.
  • Can-do attitude and enthusiasm are necessary as is strict attention to details, organization, and the ability to work quickly and efficiently.
  • Proficiency with MS office suite; ability to learn others as required.
  • Willingness to undertake business travel.
  • Position is based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
