We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of BCIM Third Party Review VP GC's The Opportunity: Job Purpose The Group Functions Data team aim to deliver data management consultancy, support and assurance to all processes, regions and countries within the functions scope. The role holder is expected to be a SME ofthe key data management pillars of:

  • Data Dictionary
  • Data- Flows & Trusted Source
  • Data Quality Monitoring
  • Issue Management
  • The role holder will be responsible responsible for supporting the process owners and driving the adoption of data controls to enable the process owners to demonstrate compliance with the banks data controls and procedures.
You will work with the proces sowners and the broader Group Functions data team to:
  • Support and govern the Implement the data management framework across the process areas
  • Support and govern documentation of lineage and data-flow
  • Support and govern the design and implemention of effective data quality, business & IT controls across the processes
  • Support and govern examination of data controls and identify remediation areas
  • Support & govern the declaration of trusted sources for the process and ensure consumption of data from trsuted sources.
  • Ensure the processes are aligned to the banks Data Management approach and methodology
  • Perform the data controls reviews across the processes as required.
  • Ensure processes design and implement BAU Op Model to refresh data artefacts, and execute the periodic attestation process
  • You will have the opportunity to work with senior stakeholders acrossGlobal Businesses, Functions, Regions and DAO and their teams.there will be extensive stakeholder engagement required at all levels to implement the HSBC FIM Data Policies across the defined end-to-end processes.

What you’ll do: Principal Accountabilities: Key activities and decision making areas
  • Drive the implementation of data policies and procedures

  • Implement Data Policies across in-scope workstreams / processes
Customers / Stakeholders
  • Work with Function stakeholders to define processes and identify critical data points
  • Govern to ensure the Function Teams are following the policies and procedures
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with Global Businesses, Global Functions, HOST and Group.
  • Build strong working relationships with DAO areas of the Global Businesses and leverage them for remediating data quality issues at source.
  • Regularly liaise with Country Function Heads and project teams to identify and resolve data quality issues and improve business processes and applications
  • Work in collaboration with the DAO Data Governance, Data Architecture, Data Quality, Utility and other teams.

Management of Risk (Operational Risk / FIM requirements)
  • The jobholder will ensure the fair treatment of our customers is at the heart of everything we do, both personally and as an organisation.
  • This will be achieved by consistently displaying the behaviours that form part of the HSBC Values and culture and adhering to HSBC risk policies and procedures, including notification and escalation of any concerns and taking required action in relation to points raised by audit and/or external regulators.
  • The jobholder is responsible for managing and mitigating operational risks in their day to day operations. In executing these responsibilities, the Group has adopted risk management and internal control structure referred to as the ‘Three Lines of Defence’. The jobholder should ensure they understand their position within the Three Lines of Defence, and act accordingly in line with operational risk policy, escalating in a timely manner where they are unsure of actions required.
  • Through the implementation the Global AML, Sanctions and ABC Policies, supporting Guidance, and Line of Business Procedures the jobholder will make informed decisions in accordance with the core principles of HSBC's Financial Crime Risk Appetite.
  • The following statement is only for roles with core responsibilities in Operational Risk Management (Risk Owner, Control Owner, Risk Steward, BRCM, and Operational Risk Function
  • The jobholder has responsibility for overseeing and ensuring that Operational risks are managed in accordance with the Group Standards Manual, Risk FIM and relevant guidelines and standards.The jobholder should comply with the detailed expectations and responsibilities for their core role in operational risk management through ensuring all actions take account of operational risks, and through using the Operational Risk Management Framework appropriately to manage those risks.
This will be achieved by:
  • Continuously reassessing risks associated with the role and inherent in the business, taking account of changing economic or market conditions, legal and regulatory requirements, operating procedures and practices, management restructurings, and the impact of new technology.
  • Ensuring all actions take account of the likelihood of operational risk occurring, addressing areas of concern in conjunction with Risk and relevant line colleagues, and also by ensuring that actions resulting from points raised by internal or external audits, and external regulators, are correctly implemented in a timely fashion.
Observation of Internal Controls
  • The jobholder will adhere to, and be able to demonstrate adherence to, internal controls and will implement the Group compliance policy by adhering to all relevant processes/procedures.
  • The term ‘compliance’ embraces all relevant financial services laws, rules and codes with which the business has to comply. This will be achieved by adherence to all relevant procedures, keeping appropriate records and, where appropriate, by the timely implementation of internal and external audit points, including issues raised by external regulators.

  • You will have accountabilities and responsibilities to provide data management governance, guidance and support to the accounting, financial reporting, and tax value streams.
