: Ongoing The Role Responsibilities Join a team of dedicated architects working on challenging projects that will have a significant impact on the banks future technology stack. This role will involve strong technical skills and a proven ability to communicate across all levels to build trust, provide advice and deliver strategic and tactical solutions together with our engineering and development teams.
  • Work with stakeholders to contribute to the banks standards and strategy relating to database technologies and database resiliency standards.
People & Talent
  • Build a strong network of relationships in the bank and across vendors to ensure dissemination of knowledge and best practice.
  • As part of a team, help to i dentify risks to the banks data technologies and suggest safeguards.
Governance
  • Maintain and contribute to the banks regulatory and internal commitments regarding data management and resiliency.
  • Take personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct, across Standard Chartered Bank. This includes understanding and ensuring compliance with, in letter and spirit, all applicable laws, regulations, guidelines and the Group Code of Conduct.
  • Lead the  team to achieve the outcomes set out in the Bank’s Conduct Principles. Fair Outcomes for Clients; Effective Financial Markets; Financial Crime Compliance; The Right Environment.
  • Effectively and collaboratively identify, escalate, mitigate and resolve risk, conduct and compliance matters.

Our Ideal Candidate
  • 12+ years’ experience in financial services.
  • 5 years’ experience in architecture role.
  • Strong analytical skills across technical solutioning and cost justification.
  • General good understanding of Networking concepts as they relate to Databases.
  • Experience of Data Warehousing, Data Governance (inc. Data Lineage and Data Quality) and ETL.
  • General knowledge of common data technologies such as Oracle, Postgres, Mongo, DB2, TeraData, Hadoop.
  • Familiarity with cloud and common application architectures.
