Internship Opportunity: Full Stack Data Engineer Intern

We are looking for a Full Stack Data Engineer Intern to join the Big Data Engineering function at dubizzle and Bayut in Dubai, UAE. You will be extracting data from publicly available internet websites and storing it in a structured format for analysis and market intelligence leveraging the existing Big Data infrastructure. You will have the opportunity to work in a modern cloud-based data warehousing environment alongside learning from the best team of diverse and talented engineers in the region gaining invaluable experience. In this role, you will:

Maintain the existing web crawlers
Develop new web crawlers and related functionality (pipelines, database)
Wrangle, cleanse, and transform a huge amount of semi-structured and structured data
Assist in analysis related to the competitive data from the crawlers
Assist in building dashboards with the collected competitive data
Create and maintain web interfaces for data mapping
Maintain and create new Retool interfaces

Requirements:

BSC in Computer Science or related fields
Knowledge on Version Control systems such as GIT with CI/CD, Terminal operations, and Linux workflows
Able to manipulate and visualize data using SQL, Excel, or any other data visualization tool
Good communication & interpersonal skills
Driven and self-motivated
Analytical thinking; Conceptual thinking
Detail-oriented; Business Acumen
Entrepreneurial spirit and ability to think creatively
