The Red Hat Consulting team is looking for a Senior Platform Consultant to join us in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. In this role, you will work to gain understanding of customer infrastructures and business needs and make recommendations matching each customer's unique situation. You’ll need to have solid technical and communications skills, including familiarity with Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), virtualization, and cloud technologies, and a record of successfully applying these technologies to solve business problems.What you will do
- Serve as a subject matter expert at the customer site, explaining technical, development, or strategic IT requirements
- Identify problems and choose fitting architectural solutions; design, specify, implement, and test software
- Facilitate customer enablement and deployment of open source solutions
- Work on diverse problems where analysis of data requires evaluation of many different factors
- Apply your experience and understanding of industry practices and Red Hat's policies and procedures
- Show good judgment in selecting methods and techniques to get the right solutions
- Manage and engage with senior level stakeholders at the C level and one level below
- Get involved early in the sales cycle to explore, review, and shape deal opportunities
- Work closely with internal stakeholders to understand customer challenges and collaborate internally with other associates to define, propose and/or deliver a solution that meets customer's requirements
What you will bring
- 10+ years of experience designing and configuring Linux, preferably Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), virtualization, and cloud technologies
- 10+ years of experience with system customization and development, including system performance tuning, building customized distributions, and working with enterprise hardware like SAN-based storage
- Ability to communicate value, progress, and metrics of key projects to required stakeholders and diverse business and technical audiences
- Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) certification or equivalent combination of skills and experience
- Comfortable defining and promoting a technology roadmap and journey with our customers
- Willingness to travel up to 50%
