Juni Learning is a live learning and AI company building personalized learning solutions for students from ages 8-18. We bring the best instructors, curriculum and platform to students around the world who want to prepare for the future. Juni is backed by Y Combinator and angel investors including Arielle Zuckerberg, and the company was featured in Forbes, Fortune, and TechCrunch. Our team was founded by two Stanford alumni and ex-Googlers, and is headquartered in San Francisco. We are hiring a Curriculum Manager to help us create the highest-quality curriculum and learning content for our students. This team builds hands-on content that challenges students and helps them excel. Responsibilities:

  • Your north star is producing educational material for students that is engaging, accurate, high-quality, and executing this in an efficient manner.
  • You are responsible for both individually reviewing and writing content as needed, and managing and reviewing other curriculum developers or contractors to produce curriculum effectively.
  • You will need to conduct and incorporate market research on educational trends, standards requirements, and student feedback while developing and revising this curriculum.
  • You are comfortable setting clear deadlines for yourself and those you project manage, and holding yourself and others accountable for these deadlines and output quality.
  • You are comfortable defining clear, quantifiable goals (e.g. creating a certain number of practice questions or projects by a certain deadline) and holding yourself and others accountable for these goals.
  • You are comfortable managing educational material development in multiple subject areas, and are able to flex across STEM and humanities as needed. You do not need to be both an expert Math and English teacher for example, but you are able to be an expert in one area and comfortable reviewing and managing the work of other developers in the other areas.
  • You will be developing courses and content in multiple formats, including our long form courses taught in live 1-1 sessions, as well as educational material for our software (AceIt) which may include video production, problem set generation, quiz generation and more.
  • For long form courses, you will be responsible for:
    • Outline, write, and launch courses in a timely manner with high-quality.
    • Research and determine new course structures.
    • Work collaboratively with other teams to launch new types of course styles.
    • Assess the success of courses launched and revise as needed.
    • Work with additional contractors to complete supplemental resources (such as videos) as needed.
    • Ensure alignment with relevant educational standards, regulations, or accreditations necessary (e.g. Common Core Standards)
  • For AceIt, you will be responsible for:
    • Managing the development of high volume practice questions with high accuracy and detail.
    • Ensure alignment with relevant educational standards, regulations, or accreditations necessary (e.g. the CollegeBoard official guidelines).
  • Manage and mentor more junior curriculum team members; assist in the interviewing and hiring process
  • Be flexible with supporting additional projects as needed to support the learning experience in Aceit, Juni classes or additional focus areas as they arise. This includes supporting cross-functional teams like marketing, engineering, instructor hiring and success, and customer support.
Qualifications:
  • B.A. or B.S. in Math, Education, Computer Science, or related field
  • 5+ years of work experience
  • Strong knowledge of educational principles, learning theories, and curriculum design
  • Familiar with educational standards, regulations, and accreditation
  • Focused on hitting weekly and monthly targets with proven track record
  • Strong ethical and honest approach
  • Excellent written/verbal communication, attention to detail and project management skills. Expertise in using spreadsheets and other project tracking software (e.g. Notion).
  • Self-driven and independent with high standards
  • Analytical mindset to utilize data and metrics for decision making
  • Leadership abilities to guide a team and collaborate across functions
  • Adaptability and embracing innovative approaches and new systems and software
  • Open and flexible mindset, with curiosity to learn about other teams and take on projects traditionally outside of curriculum scope
  • Some experience with coaching or managing a team of 1 or more.
  • 3+ years experience as a teacher or tutor, ideally with dedicated curriculum development experience in Math is a plus.
  • Programming experience (any language) a plus
  • Health, dental, vision insurance benefits included
