Job Description

As this role is essential to the organization, it is vital candidate comes with a track record of delivery and proven experience. Among the many responsibilities are listed below: Technical/Role Specific

• Responsible for managing all contractual / commercial operations for the Project in line with contract specifications and obligations.
• Provide advice in contract interpretation to identify opportunities that will greater enhance company returns.
• Provide instruction and training to Project personnel in commercial procedures applicable to Client and Company requirements.
• Attend regular meetings with project personnel, projects contractors and Client representatives to ensure effective project performance, communication of progress and management of positive relationships.
• Assist with the development, review and negotiation of contract variations to the Client as per instructions by management.
• Assist in the development, review and negotiation of subcontractor agreements and issuing variations to work orders.
• Drafting of formal letters to the Client including collation of supporting documents.
• Collation and analysis of data to produce reports concerning Project budgeting, expenditure, performance and completion outcomes.
• Responding to inquiries and resolving problems concerning commercial and contractual aspects of the Projects.
• Coordination and liaison with project and senior management to ensure effective delivery of contractual obligations and goals, addressing issues and implementing agreed solutions.
• Ensure project personnel adhere to legislation and industry standards in commercial / contractual aspects.
• Ensure compliance with ethical practices and company policies and procedures.
• Utilise clear communication channels to ensure that a full understanding of the contractual / commercial requirements is achieved amongst project personnel.

BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT

• Develop, promote and increase the business activities of the company wherever possible.
• Professionally represent the Company in coordination meetings with client representatives as required.
• Aim to further the company's profitability and reputation for excellence and professionalism
• Maintain strong client relationships on a regular basis and ensure effective and professional communication and customer service at all times.

FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT

• Assist in the management of project expenditure in resources, materials and consumables in conjunction with the agreed project budget.
• Assist the project control team in capturing all project expenditure for effective and timely invoicing to the Client in line with contractual / commercial obligations.

REPORTING

• Maintenance of project reporting for use in commercial, contract variation and project management purposes, including but not limited to monthly and/or weekly project budgeting, expenditure, client invoicing, performance and completion outcomes, in line with Client and Company requirements.

The Successful Applicant

The ideal Commercial, Contracts and Legal manager will be confident in leading from the front and be responsible for the growth of the company while possessing the below requirements;

• Bachelor's of Laws (LL.B) or higher qualifications.
• At least 5 years of experience as a legal practitioner in a law firm or in-house counsel.
• Prior experience in the engineering/manufacturing or related industries would be preferred.
• Self-driven, energetic team player.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with strong persuasive abilities.
