About the role GHD Advisory group has a phenomenal opportunity for an Advisor to join, support and drive forward our Public Policy and Government Transformation services, supporting our track focused on public policy, strategy, and organizational transformation of government entities. Working with the Senior Advisor – Public Policy and Government Transformation, this position offers the opportunity to lead a varied range of innovative projects focused on driving government performance to improve public outcomes through the lens policy, strategy, and people and organisations, and to support the development a growth portfolio in GHD’s business. The position is offered as part of the EMEA GHD Advisory team and may reside within any of our UAE offices.  Core responsibilities 

  • Supporting our clients in tackling some of the biggest challenges facing government in the region, in GHD’s areas of focus such as water, energy, environment, and communities.
  • Supporting and coordinating project delivery as a core member of project teams focused on government transformation and capacity building.
  • Inputting into business development activities including client meetings, and providing support on proposals to provide technical inputs to win and deliver projects.
  • Supporting in the development of project methodology on topics related to public policy, strategy, regulation, organizational design and transformation. 
  • Provide robust analysis to clients to support improved or new ways of improving government performance, whether it be through creative evidence-based policy design or impactful restructuring of their entities.
  • Develop professionally within a progressive consultancy environment in an entrepreneurial growth stage.
Skills, experience and qualifications
  • A passion for helping government institutions at the organizational and teams levels to improve performance, service delivery, and public outcomes for the communities they serve. 
  • Bachelor’s degree: Business, Political Science, International Relations, Public Policy, Organisational Management or Psychology, Engineering (with experience working directly with government partners), or related degree preferred
  • Advanced degree or MBA is a plus.
  • 3+ years of experience working on either public policy, regulation and strategy for government entities, OR organizational design, governance, and operating model development for government entities. Capability across both areas is a plus but not required. Experience working in the MENA region and a previous consultancy background is highly desirable.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and with people across all levels in an organization
  • Comfortable with significant client interaction and interest in establishing relationships
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to communicate complex ideas optimally, both verbally and in writing.
  • Confidence to work effectively in a high-energy, fast paced environment
  • Excellent report writing and presentation skills
  • Good interpersonal skills; e.g. relates well to colleagues, clients and business contacts, and can influence to achieve positive results.
