JOB OBJECTIVE The IT Infrastructure Engineer contributes in the specification, design, implementation, testing and support of the IT infrastructure in assigned projects within the UAE. Roles & Responsibilities
  • Responsible for the delivery of project deliverables concerning the IT Infrastructure (system requirements, high-level and low level design documents, requests for quotation to suppliers, interface documents, installation and maintenance procedures, test procedures and reports)
  • Activities
    • analyze user and system requirements, derive and specify requirements for the IT infrastructure
    • work with the DevOps and Integration & Test teams to define the specifications for the implementation
    • work with IT Security team in order to minimize risks linked to Cyber Security and to implement security controls
    • work with CAD team to provide inputs and review for: single-line, wiring and installation drawings
    • define hardware specifications, request for quotation, requirements and scope of work for subcontractors and suppliers
    • present requirements and specifications of implementation to the Infrastructure team
    • peer review of requirements, specifications, test procedures and manuals (user, administration, maintenance)
    • participate in Agile ceremonies (Sprint planning & Review, Daily, Retrospective)
    • prepare training materials and conduct training to peers and customers
    • attend site survey visits and prepare site survey reports
    • define test procedures and conduct hardware and installation acceptance tests
    • specify requirements and supervise hardware and safety audits
    • participate in internal and customer technical meetings
  • Technologies
    • Linux: Debian, RedHat
    • Virtualization/Container: VMware, Docker, Kubernetes
    • Database: PostgreSQL, MariaDB
    • Network: Cisco, Alcatel-Lucent, Fortinet
    • Datacenter:
      • cabling: power, structured cabling system, coaxial, discreet wire
      • data and server cabinet
      • powerline network, UPS
      • environment requirements
      • datacenter standards (TIA-942)
    • Radio: military radios or professional mobile radios
Work Experience Requirements
  • Working experience in the following domains: server, storage, virtualization, network
  • 5 years’ experience in a technical IT design capacity
  • Experience in implementing IT security controls (endpoint protection, PKI, server hardening, network security, VM security)
  • Experience in the full IT Infrastructure project lifecycle: requirements, design, implementation, installation, test and handover
  • Experience in integration with radio communication systems
  • Working experience in Continuous Integration / Continuous Deployment
  • Understanding of VHF/UHF communications
  • Understanding of EMC fundamentals, low voltage directive, CE marking
Qualification & Educational Requirements
  • BSc in computer science or equivalent qualification
  • Qualifications in IT Infrastructure subsystems (network, communication, datacenter, virtualization, software integration, etc.)
  • Preferred certifications in VMware, Linux System Administration
  • Must have high fluency in spoken and written English
  • French and/or Arabic would be an added advantage
