Job Description Reporting to the GM: Group Reporting and Insights, the role will be accountable to manage the Group’s Business Planning function, provide forecasts and insights into financial performance, support the Remuneration processes and manage the OML share incentive trusts. It is a senior role with very high visibility across the Group and involves engagement with members of OML Exco and senior finance and strategy executives across all businesses in OML. Key Result Areas Business planning- Lead the development of a business plan for OML across the three-year projection period.
- Provide support to OML Exco with the analysis of segmental business plans, highlighting areas for further growth/risk.
- Improving processes, including the migration onto a new system, OneStream, for Business Plan 2025.
- Work with Prioritisation Board and Gating sub-committee to enhance strategic investment outcomes.
- Continued embedding of the Value Driver Framework of the group which links the strategic objectives and financial outcomes for the group.
- Provide support to the Human Capital team with the development and revisions to incentive schemes as required (annual scorecard metrics and targets together with structure of schemes).
- Provide Management Remuneration Committee and the OML Remuneration Committee with forecasts of expected incentive scheme outcomes.
- Support segments with implementation and updates to variable pay provisions.
- Support the Human Capital Reward team with the production of the annual Remuneration Report.
- Work together with Human Capital and Capability Cluster teams to ensure the effective operation of our share trusts, including:
- Management of share trust accounting (awards, vesting, dividend payments, etc.).
- High-quality reporting to share trust trustees as required.
- Disclosure of directors and prescribed officers’ remuneration in AFS and Remuneration Report.
- Optimisation of share trust structures.
- Preparation of audited annual financial statements for share trusts.
- Improvements to financial reporting processes to enable efficient and accurate reporting.
- Provide quarterly aggregated forecasts of OML performance including insights and analysis to support decision making.
- Provide view of comparative financial performance relative to main insurance competitors.
- Use insights to enhance our external disclosures and decision making.
- Creates climate for optimal performance
- Plans work over periods of up to 3 years to support finance vision and strategy
- Manages service delivery through other managers and their teams
- Defines and implements best operating practice
- Holds first line managers accountable for managerial work, including selection, performance management and talent management
- Drives operational excellence through area of supervision
- Qualified Actuary or Qualified CA (SA) with 8 years post qualification experience
- A background within the Financial Services industry is required, with experience in the reporting of performance metrics preferable.
- Strong report writing skills.
- Proficient in MS Excel, Word, Visio and PowerPoint
- Excellent stakeholder management and relationship building skills.
- A confident communicator, resourceful and proactive, ensuring adequate quality and timely delivery of presentations and reports.
- Flexibility and willingness to work outside strictly defined role and hours when required.
- Strong organisational and project management skills
- Ability to interact with senior executives.
- Able to work constructively under pressure and adapt to change.
- Ability to integrate complex information.
- Maintain confidentiality of all information both from internal and external sources.
- Clear credit & criminal records
