We have created a new senior leadership role, Head of Global System Integrator (GSI) Alliances, to lead our business development and partnership with these important actors in the global technology sector. As the publisher of Ubuntu and the leading provider of open source to major technology firms globally, we are expanding into the enterprise market where GSIs provide significant operational and tactical capacity. We have had good success with GSIs that are delivering next-generation private cloud, container, and public cloud solutions built with Canonical Ubuntu, and are looking to expand our investment in these alliances. Reporting to the VP Global Alliances and Channels, the Global Head of GSI Alliances will lead a team of representatives and develop that strategic go-to-market strength for Canonical. You will work closely with GSI partners throughout their sales cycles and across their sales organizations to make Canonical their trusted partner to deliver opensource solutions at scale for their enterprise customers. In this role you will be responsible for ensuring that our solutions are used or embedded at the core of GSI digital transformation platforms. Our GSI team builds trusted relationships with partners at executive level, increases Canonical market share and attach rate, evangelizes the partnership and leads all business interactions from engineers to CxO level. The Global Head of GSI Alliances will own the strategy, sell-to, sell-through and sell-with motions with all GSI partners, as well as promotion of our GSI related activities - from campaigns, to strategic opportunities and GSI related events (including Canonical s yearly GSI executive summit). Our company largely works from home, this role can be based in the Americas or EMEA.
The role of the Global Head of GSI Alliances at Canonical:
As the Global Head of GSI Alliances you will:- Own and drive GSI partner strategy, forecast, bookings and revenues for Canonical
- Lead and evolve a team towards accelerated revenue growth with GSI
- Build strategic relationships with partners at executive levels
- Guide our offering from product management, to product marketing, and scale it through the support of our global sales organization
What we are looking for in you:
The successful GSI Alliance Sales Director will have :- Experience in alliance and indirect sales management roles
- Experience in the GSI sector
- Deep commercial experience encompassing revenue and margins
- Proven leadership and presentation skills
- Insight into open source, Ubuntu and Canonical's competition and opportunities
- Track record of data-driven decision-making
- An autonomous, disciplined, hands-on, get-it-done mentality

This role is also responsible for helping to identify, advise on, and mitigate risk associated with global tenders and contracts as well as oversight of compliance to terms and conditions, internal reporting, and process adherence. <br><br> The role in alignment with line management will set the strategic direction for the Commercial Operations function ensuring it is well placed to deliver value and bottom line impact to the organization. <br><br><b> ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES </b><br><br> SAFETY, SECURITY & COMPLIANCE <br><ul><li> Maintains the highest standards of corporate governance, ensuring that all activities are carried out ethically and in compliance with Company's Security, Compliance and HSE policies, Management System, relevant laws, regulations, standards and industry practices and complies with the Company's Rules to Live By. </li></ul><ul><li> Places Quality, Health and Safety, Security and protection of the Environment as core values while never intentionally placing employees, our processes, customers or the communities in which we live and work at risk. </li><li> Seeks continual improvement in Health, Safety, Security and protection of the Environment, taking into account responsible care, process vulnerabilities, public, customer and employee inputs, knowledge and technology and best business practices to exceed customer expectations. </li><li> Demonstrates effective safety leadership for the health and safety arrangements of all subordinates and for any persons visiting them while on the Company premises. </li></ul><br> QUALITY <br><ul><li> Responsible for being familar with the Company's Quality policies and takes an active role in the compliance and improvement of Weatherfords Management System. </li><li> Maintains service quality as immediate priorities when working across all areas of the business and continually seeks areas for improvement. </li></ul><br> OPERATIONS <br><ul><li> Proactively and successfully applies oil and gas industry proposal acumen directly to strategic tenders or proposals worked on and indirectly through the Commercial Operations team. </li><li> Oversees the framework/process for the development of the proposal win strategy in collaboration with Global and Geozones teams. </li><li> Accountable for the Commercial Operations process compliance with Weatherford's contracting policy. </li><li> Directs Commercial Operations resources and efforts necessary to manage Tenders and Contracts across all phases of the commercial life cycle, including overseeing the processes deployed by the Geozone Commercial Operations teams and workload analysis. </li><li> Develops and delivers contract performance tracking with Commercial Operations teams. </li><li> Supports the Commercial review outcome by adding expert inputs into major and critical deals within their remit. </li><li> Supports Commercial and Product Line stakeholders in activities to influence strategic pursuits and tenders ahead of release, including customer meetings related to negotiations on key tenders and contracts. </li><li> Ensures all relevant stakeholders are kept informed on major and critical deals the company is working on. </li><li> In partnership with Global Commercial and Marketing, ensure Weatherford's competitive advantages are clearly expressed through the development and implementation of the most up to date content and best in class messaging - managing the same through the output of the Commercial Operations team. </li><li> Develop and/or maintain systems and process for capturing and implementing lessons learned, trend analysis and best practices into future commercial proposals; facilitating adoption and collaboration between Commercial and PL stakeholders. </li><li> Maintains and continually improves Commercial tools and processes in collaboration with the Global Commercial group, Marketing and other relevant stakeholders. </li><li> Leads simplification efforts towards process improvement, efficiencies and bidding capacity enhancement within the team. </li><li> Develops and delivers communication and execution of any simplification improvements to organization in conjunction with global marketing. </li><li> Actively engages and supports the Global Commercial SteerCo projects. </li><li> Contributes to building and implementing commercial training for the organisation. </li><li> Actively contributes with ideas and suggestions to increase the proposal win rate. </li><li> Be financially responsible with their own expenses and oversee that of their reports. </li><li> Costs incurred should be within approved budget, processed within agreed time frames and following the relevant financial policy and procedure. </li></ul><br> COMMUNICATION <br><ul><li> Owns and communicates all aspects of the Commercial Operations Function strategy with respect to people, process and systems. </li><li> Acts as the main point of contact for developing, maintaining and communicating processes and methods on Tenders and Contracts to the Geozones Commercial Operations Managers and to other stakeholders as needed. </li><li> Supports best in class engagement with major Customers at all levels and especially with procurement departments with focus on Tendering and Contracting strategies and Negotiations, ensuring that the Company's preferred positions are clearly represented. </li><li> Develops and maintains productive relationships with all key Global and Geozone stakeholders </li><li> Supports the Geozones Commercial Operations teams by liaising with Global Product Lines and Support departments (such as Legal, Tax, Credit, Risk, Treasury, etc.) to: </li><ul><li> Streamline cooperation between the relevant stakeholders involved in supporting Tenders and Contracts management needs </li><li> Mitigate business risks </li><li> Maximise financial returns and win rate </li><li> Embrace development of alternative offerings and solutions that are aligned with both Weatherford and Customers' objectives. </li></ul><li> Provides periodic reports and updates in a timely and effective manner to their Managers and other business partners as needed. </li><li> Maintains effective communications with all key stakeholders both internal and external where appropriate. </li><li> Clearly communicate expectations, roles and responsibilities to their reports. </li></ul><br> VISION & LEADERSHIP <br><ul><li> Exhibits a forward thinking and innovative mindset necessary to evolve the Commercial Operations function. </li><li> Demontrates leadership, ethical behaviour and adherence to Weatherford standards at all times. </li><li> Leverages Commercial Operations processes including adopting best in class methods, attributes and behaviours, positioning the Commercial Operations team as a strong enabler towards achieving the Company's commercial goals and objectives. </li></ul><br><br><b> Qualifications </b><br><br><b> EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION </b><br><br> REQUIRED <br><ul><li> University degree in a Business, Finance, Economics, Law or Engineering discipline. </li><li> 10+ years of sales, marketing, proposal management, product line, commercial operations and/or contract management experience in Oil and Gas market. </li></ul><br> PREFERRED <br><ul><li> Applied Master's degree or MBA. </li><li> Advanced MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint software. </li><li> 10+ years of sales, Marketing, proposal management, Product Line, commercial operations and/or contract management experience in Oil and Gas market. </li></ul><br><br><b> KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES </b><br><br> REQUIRED <br><ul><li> Excellent interpersonal and organisational skills with the ability to communicate and influence all levels within own and client organisations, as well as simultaneously manage multiple projects. </li><li> Results orientated, self-driven, energetic, attention to detail, methodical and meticulous regarding work product </li><li> Demonstrates understanding of the Oil and Gas Industry business environment, its market dynamics and impact to commercial business practices, oil and gas industry products and services application. </li><li> Demonstrated resilience, persistence and creative passion in building trust with all stakeholders, particularly when driving change -
