Job Purpose The Finance Manager - Banking, Insurance, Payroll (BIP) is responsible for support in month-end GL (general ledger) Business Banking, Treasury, Insurance and Payroll (BIP) closing activities and financial reporting of Market’s results. Support in the preparation and review of Balance Sheet reconciliations. Review of journal entries and execution of Internal Controls in accordance with GSK Internal Control Finance Framework. Collaborate with stakeholders and other functions (e.g. P2P, O2C, Stat & Tax) to ensure successful month-end closing, reporting activities. Be accountable for the timeliness, accuracy, relevance and integrity of financial analyses and reports. Responsible for the financial reporting of the designated entities. The role helps to deliver the Finance vision of a “world class finance function recognized by industry, the profession and our people” which underpins the GSK vision. Strong expertise with accounting concepts, processes and key controls, policies, reporting and budgeting principles to ensure correct application to financial statements. The role also needs to be able to accurately implement controls & compliance for audit and work closely with other finance and business stakeholders including internal and external auditors. Education, Experience & Skills
- CA / ACCA / Degree in Finance & Accounting OR equivalent work experience.
- Minimum 5 years of previous experience in similar roles
- Proficiency in SAP
- Proficient within Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Experience working for pharma/biotech company preferred.
- Manage service delivery of Close and Control processes in scope and oversee routine operations and take lead in operational matters and issue resolution.
- Coordinating with bank on updating bank mandates (creation/deletion user access as Security Manager),
- Maintain & Process Board resolutions or equivalent,
- Manage banking facilities (loans, forex, OD/FD, Bank Guarantees etc)
- Setup bank accounts (opening/closing bank accounts),
- Performing ICFW controls, act as Control champion
- Managing PII information related to bank mandate holders,
- Coordinating between P2P, HR, Genpact, LOC, corporate treasury, and local banks in any related issues
- Coordinate Insurance renewal, claims, payment between CIRM and LOC
- Manage any insurance related queries.
- Managing Payroll issues by coordinating between HR, LOC, Payroll Vendors and Genpact.
- Operationally hands-on and leading month-end GL (general ledger) Business Banking, Treasury, Insurance and Payroll (and other required) close and reporting activities contributing to Market’s results.
- Review Journals including but not limited to prepaid & accruals at month end, associated internal controls and checks and completion of month close schedule on time.
- Support in the preparation and review of Balance Sheet reconciliations and execution of Internal Controls in accordance with GSK Internal Control Finance Framework.
- Provide Controllership support and ensuring quality delivery of BIP responsibilities with accuracy, completeness, and timeliness on a daily basis around BIP activities.
- Resolve BIP accounting and reporting issues.
- Support in the execution of month end close steps in accordance with month end close checklist (MEC) and Operating Procedures in places.
- Execution of Internal Controls in accordance with GSK Internal Control Finance Framework.
- Review of monthly Balance Sheet schedules & reconciliation where required. Liaise with respective stakeholders of Balance Sheet Reconciliations to resolve open items.
- Ensure compliance to Regional / Global Finance Hub policies, local Company legal and statutory requirements.
- Ensure stakeholders queries are attended to and resolved in a timely, responsible, and proactive manner.
- Collaborate with stakeholders and other functions (e.g. P2P, O2C, FRMC, Stat &Tax) to ensure successful month-end close.
- Supporting the BIP financial reporting of the designated legal entities.
- Lead new and existing team members through knowledge transfer; sharing of resource, knowledge and experience and best practice thereby ensuring quality is maintained.
- Work with Global Process Owner (GPO) and Subject Matter Experts (SME) to standardize Financial Reporting activities, update changes to Local Standard Operating Procedures and documentation required. Assist in the preparation of training materials where required.
- Lead and support in projects and other ad-hoc activities:
- Support dividend payment process / related cashflow analysis & forecasting.
- Participate in any compliance audits and respond to audit queries.
- Other activities related to BIP, Service Delivery, Controllership / Reporting activities.
- Ensure Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) are met on time and with accuracy.
- Act as a primary point of contact for all the escalations related to process in scope and comply with the company’s polices/standards, and the local laws and regulations.
- Country specific knowledge of taxation (VAT and CIT) & accounting rules applicable particularly for country-to-country transition.
- Perform analysis for management review and decision making.
- Drive local process improvement initiatives and support global initiatives.
- Comply with and complete requests and ad hoc & other assignment from line manager.
- Perform review of all applicable controls (ICFW) to ensure compliance.
- Operationally performing activities as well as supporting and leading a small team of Analyst(s)
