Working with us can help you leave your own Sustainable Legacies. We are looking for a transport planner at the Consultant level to join our Future Mobility team based in Dublin or Belfast. In this role, you will work with ambitious clients to develop plans, policies, and strategies to address climate change and economic, social, business, and operational objectives. You will work on plans such as the expansion of Dublin Airport, a new vision for the bus system in Northern Ireland, the business case for the upgrade and electrification of the Cork area suburban rail system, the implementation of bus network changes in Dublin and the introduction of mobility hubs throughout Ireland. Our clients in Ireland to whom we have provided consulting services for many years include Transport Infrastructure Ireland, National Transport Authority, Dublin Airport, Irish Rail and Translink. Current and recent projects include: Rail Freight Strategy and Development Programme Road Emissions Model and National Transport Model National Cycle Network Plan Cork Area Commuter Rail Project National Mobility Hubs Strategy and Business Case Dublin Airport masterplan and surface access planning (daa) Transport plans for various towns nationally including: Maynooth, Carlow and Killarney. Appraisal, modelling and business cases for the DART+ programme to upgrade Dublin’s heavy rail system and the BusConnects programme to transform Dublin’s bus system Planning for bus network route change implementation in Dublin Advice to Translink relating to bus depots Planning for the extension of Dublin’s light rail system (Luas) AECOM is recruiting for a transport planner to join our Transport Planning and Economics Team in Ireland. We are looking to enhance and grow our team with individuals with a sound technical background that share our enthusiasm and determination to support our expanding workload. As a Consultant within the Transport Planning and Economics Team you will: Work collaboratively within multi-disciplinary teams Support the production of high-quality project deliverables Undertake primary research and analysis as part of larger projects Support business development through preparation of tender responses Engage in continuous sector specific learning and development. Minimum Requirements We welcome all applicants with a keen interest in transport and the behaviours and skills to deliver for our team. These are the requirements we consider to be essential to the role: One to two years experience in transport or land use planning or in a related discipline and interested in developing a career as a transport planner Numeracy and reporting skills including data collection and analysis skills and the ability to communicate the results of our work to different audiences An interest in public policy Keen to work as part of a team and to develop and progress career development Good time management and ability to work toward project completion for our clients. Qualifications Degree/Masters qualification in a relevant transport planning area such as engineering, geography, mathematics, economics, spatial planning, from an accredited college or university Working towards or interested in working towards chartered membership of a relevant chartered professional institution such as the Engineers Ireland/Institution of Civil Engineers, Chartered Institution of Highways and Transportation, or the Transport Planning Society.
